Myriad Genetics (MYGN): Split buy
2009-03-26 14:00:00 "It’s hard to believe that stocks can go much lower; the gloom and doom is just relentless," says Neal Macneale. In 2-for-1, he looks at his latest buy -- Myriad Genetics (NASDAQ: MYGN)."By recommending Myriad Genetics, I am forced to bend a few of the guidelines usually used to select our monthly stock pick, which are always chosen from among those stocks that have announced 2-for-1 splits. "MYGN does not fit the mold of the typical dividend-paying, conservative large cap type of stock that we usually add to our portfolio. "However, this medium sized biotech company is growing its sales and earnings very rapidly, has no debt, and is very profitable. It is also considerably less volatile than the average listed stock. "Admittedly, it does not pay a dividend and its PE ratio (40) is much higher than I like but, theoretically, its strong growth justifies the high PE. If the earnings growth continues, the share price will catch up. "The company ...

That is very bullish."This fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, MYGN's net should jump 38% to $1.41 a share from $1.02 a year ago. Net for the upcoming fiscal second quarter e...
Cancer tests boost Myriad (MYGN)
2009-01-02 06:00:00 "My top idea for 2009 is Myriad Genetics (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/quote.htm?sym=mygn) (NASDAQ: MYGN (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/quote.htm?sym=mygn))," says Mike Cintolo (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/ccount/click.php?id=2718). In The Cabot Market Letter (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/ccount/click.php?id=2718), he looks at "the leader in the new field of cancer predisposition testing.""Myriad Genetics five tests on the market (covering colon, breast, ovarian and skin cancer) that tell a patient if his genes make it more likely that he'll get various types of cancer."During the past few quarters, revenues from these tests have risen at a 50% annual clip, and there's no sign of that slowing down."The company also has a pharmaceutical division, but it's going to spin that off sometime in 2009. That should be a big positive, as the drug development division carries good potential, but also big-time costs. Once the cancer predisposition testing division is on ...

Free Music From The Myriad
2008-05-13 07:01:00 After winning a incredible under-dog victory in the MTV2 Dew Circuit Breakout, The Myriad's new CD, With Arrows With Poise is in stores and online today. Since that's kind of a big deal, I'm going to spotlight them, even though I only have three songs. The story of The Myriad is one full of danger, excitement, and a rise to fame. Beginning with You Can't Trust A Ladder, the band's critically acclaimed but sadly unheralded debut on Floodgate Records. They released two free songs from this CD project, "Stretched Over" and ''Perfect Obligation", which were available on Purevolume and the Floodgate website, respectively.Fast forward a few years. The Myriad is in the running for the MTV2 Dew Circuit Breakout. Against all odds, they win, receiving a record deal with Koch Records, and music video play on MTV, MTV2, and MTV Hits.Fast forward again, to right now. The Myriad's new music video, "A Clean Shot", is getting heavy playback on all three channels. Their new project, Wi...
A Myriad of Miscellaneous Material
2008-03-02 14:40:00 Well, not really...just three bits of randomness that don't really have a place. The alliteration was just a bit more eye catching...:) I have wanted to touch upon them, but they aren't really food related. but haven't gotten around to them. So here they are....First -One of the blogs I love visiting Bleeding Expresso. They fact that Michelle is an American living in Italy is what first drew me to her blog. I have always thought in my head how I would love to pick up and move to Tuscany, but know I would never have the guts. Then, she writes. Being a former Language Arts/English teacher, I love reading someone?s writing- especially in mediums other than books/novels. I think that?s why I have gotten so into reading blogs. Last night, I read her things left unsaid post. Its great! So my thoughts in this post were prompted by Michelle?s post, who got the idea from -R- at And You Know What Else (who got it from Abbersnail who got it from NPW). Did you get all that? Ha!1. I envy your...

nonsense of myriad reality and zen wisdom of buddha
2007-12-10 17:38:00 Buddha said: "I consider the positions of kings and rulers as that of dust motes. I observe treasures of gold and gems as so many bricks and pebbles. I look upon the finest silken robes as tattered rags. I see myriad worlds of the universe as small seeds of fruit, and the greatest lake in India as a drop of oil on my foot.I perceive the teachings of the world to be the illusion of magicians. I discern the highest conception of emancipation as a golden brocade in a dream, and view the holy path of the illuminated ones as flowers appearing in one's eyes. I see meditation as a pillar of a mountain, Nirvana as a nightmare of daytime. I look upon the judgment of right and wrong as the serpentine dance of a dragon, and the rise and fall of beliefs as but traces left by the four seasons.". text credit via dis and pandemonium blog. photo credit: MysticLens
The Myriad Possibilities of Conceptual Writing: A Quiet but Major Success
2007-11-25 12:39:00 Grady Harp is an Amazon Top 10 Reviewer Garth Risk Harvey, with some major help from his many photographer friends and designers Christopher D. Salyers and Eliane Lazzaris, has created a unique book in A Field Guide to the North American Family. This completely fascinating ‘novel’ is a compendium of brief one-page thoughts titled alphabetically and matched with a photograph that illuminates the words written. And as if this weren’t clever enough, the entire book is a marvel of design, taking the form of a notebook one would take on a journey, a collection of musings, paraphernalia, variations in paper types and typefaces, and printed in such a way that the reader feels almost guilty about opening the cover of someone’s private diary, so intimate is the structure and the content. This is an art book - but it is so very much more. Hallberg subtitles his book ‘Concerning chiefly the Hungates and Harrisons, with accounts of their habits, nesting, dispersion...

Houston Foreclosures Provide Myriad Possibilities to Locals
2007-11-01 16:34:00 The rate of Houston foreclosures has not undergone any drastic changes in the last year or so. This can be attributed to an all together stable real estate market in the city. With lots of corporations and businesses maintaining its economic strength, residents will continue to enjoy a high quality of living. This translates to the capability of most Houstonites to live comfortably and possess financial resources to invest in some sectors, particularly the real estate market.

Boynq offers up myriad of artsy speakers, peripherals
2007-08-11 12:31:00 Filed under: Portable Audio, Portable Video It's been a tick since we've seen any randomness from Boynq's labs, but it looks like the firm has worked up quite a number of design-centric speaker stations, iPod sound systems, and superfluous USB-related gizmos of late. Among the standouts are the iCube II (pictured), which sports ten-watts of amplification, an iPod docking port, line-in, dedicated treble / bass controls, and a rather sexy look, too. Additionally, the tooth-shaped Sabre operates much like the aforementioned device but touts twice the wattage and a video output, and the USB-powered Alibi webcam looks an awful lot like a robotic pet of some sort. Do yourself a favor and check out a few more photos of Boynq's zany lineup after the jump.Continue reading Boynq offers up myriad of artsy speakers, peripherals Read | Permalink | Email this | CommentsOffice Depot Featured Gadget: Xbox 360 Platinum System Packs the power to bring games to life!
