Best Buy compra Napster por 121 millones de dólares
2008-09-16 10:25:00 Napster nunca volverá a gozar de la fama y popularidad que lo encumbraron a la gloria a finales de la década pasada, pero de lo que no cabe duda es de que sigue generando mucho, muchísimo dinero a sus propietarios. Convertida desde hace años en una tienda de música online al uso, como tanto gusta a las discográficas, no es que venda muchas canciones, pero eso no ha sido impedimento para que Best Buy, por una extraña razón que escapa a mi entendimiento, haya decidido pagar 121 millones de dólares en efectivo para comprarla. Best Buy es desde hace tiempo una de las cadenas dedicadas a la electrónica de consumo con una mayor facturación a nivel mundial. Con la adquisición de Napster deja bien claro que quiere introducirse con fuerza en el negocio de la música online, llamado a mover más dinero que la venta de CDs físicos a no mucho tardar, y que desde la aparición del binomio iPod + iTunes domina de forma apabullante Apple.
