Naqaab, starring Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna and Urvashi Sharma and directed by Abbas Burmawalla and Mustan Burmawalla, starts off pretty routinely. You could have watched a hundred movies with the same premise — rich guy, poor girl, handsome third wheel, etc, etc.

Fortunately, NAQAAB lives up to the hype and hoopla, to an extent.For any thriller to strike a chord, it ought to follow three simple rules: [a] It should boast of actors who can carry off their parts with dexterity, [b] The twists-n-turns should catch you by complete surprise and [c] The climax, when the veil of secrecy is unveiled, should come as a jolt from the blue.NAQAAB gets it right on two of the three vital fronts. The only time the film begins to stagnate is in its second hour, when the knots begin to disentangle. The film dips in the second hour, but the climax does a volte face again. I would never say my expectations were sky high but they weren’t below the ground level either! To be frank, Naqaab, is in fact the ‘most disappointing thriller of the year so far’. The film's impact deteriorates as the time passes... from bad to worse to plainly absurd, illogical and seriously insane! Akshaye's Salsa dance in 'Naqaab'
2007-06-04 04:00:00 It's time for a Salsa number for Akshaye Khanna. He will be seen dancing with newcomer Urvashi Shrama in a sensual dance number in his upcoming music thriller "Naqaab". The comfort level between the pair was terrific and choreographer Raju Khan is overjoyed. He says Akshaye has a flexible body and so it was not so difficult for him to train to get the steps right. Before the final take, both the actors have done a few rehearsals to give off their best on screen.
