Walking along Santa Rosa, between Thames and Borges, you?ll find El Bosquejo, which is the oldest construction of the neighborhood. This used to be the Alvear?s weekend house and was built in 1887 as Villa Alvear (a few years ago, actress and singer Natalia Oreiro bought this property). In 1888, the Alvear?s family decided to urbanize the area and these narrow streets were built as part of a workers? neighborhood inside the Villa. It was an attempt to offer smaller and cheaper lands for the working class. Plaza Cortázar was the epicenter of the Villa. Nowadays, we can find there a few shops, private houses and street art.
