Yuri Manga: Negima!
2009-06-03 17:40:00 It's Wednesday, which must mean it's time for a Guest Review! Today Sean Gaffney will catch us up to date on the Yuri in Negima! Magister Negi Magi. Take it away, Sean!I haven't done a review going into the Yuri in Negima in a long time. Mostly as there's been almost nothing to say. The only Yuri couple with any subtext, Setsuna and Konoka, have remained pretty much at a stasis for about 20 volumes. However, this new arc in the Magic World seems to be finally showing some character development. Tsukuyomi, the Evil Psychotic Lesbian of Negima (whose psychotic crush on Setsuna is shown even more blatantly, to the point of verging on attempted rape), notes that Setsuna is weaker now that she's more 'human', and notes that she'll never be able to protect her ojou-sama that way. (This will be in Volume 25, which should be released here in early 2010.) We're now 3 volumes later (i.e. what you'll see at the END of 2010), and Setsuna is still worrying about this. Master Negi Magi (Live Action "Negima") Trailer
2007-09-22 05:01:00 The trailer for the much talked about, Live Action "Negima!" drama, has surfaced, with an air date set for October 3rd, 2007. The drama follows the story from the anime and manga; Magician Negi Springfield goes to Japan to teach at an all-girls school. The role of Negi is played by a very young female actress. Although, I must admit that she potrays Negi really well - appearance wise (Cosplay, anyone?), I feel as though that it's odd having a girl playing a male teacher at an all girls' school, on a TV show - with a moé feel to it. Not only that, the whole atmosphere of the show is too much like the Harry Potter movies.

2007-05-30 22:15:00 Overall Rating: ?Synopsis: 10 year old child wizard/genius Negi Springfield has to teach English at an all-girls boarding school. Magic and fan-service ensue. The reason I put a ? for Overall Rating is I have no idea what to think about this series. Both the manga and the anime seem to focus more on fan-service involving middle school girls than on plot or magic. I was tempted to rate it a D, but I have only seen the first disc of the anime, and read the first volume of manga, so maybe it gets better. I wouldn't count on it though.Both seem to be closer to a male's first wet dream than anything resembling plot, with panty shots and barely clad schoolgirls thrown in at every opportunity. I originally picked up the series because I like magic, and I like manga, and I thought this might be along the lines of Harry Potter. It was closer to being along the lines of a bad romance novel.
