DJ Neil Armstrong - Bittersweeet [2003]Link 2DJ Neil Armstrong?s Bittersweeet mixtape was a groundbreaking release. Broken into seven ?chapters?, Bittersweeet takes listeners through the story of a relationship, from love at first sight, to getting down and dirty, all the way to the sadness of breaking up and getting over someone. As it says in the liner notes, it covers ?All things pretty, all the things that are ugly, and everything in between. Bitter and Sweeet.?Beyond being an enjoyable listen, it is arguably the first mix tape to tell a coherent story. It went further then following an idea or style of music; it?s literally an audio storybook. I was lucky enough to get Neil to break down the creative process behind Bittersweeet, his inspirations for making it, and the reactions he?s gotten from different listeners. Respect the skills, as ?The All Out King? himself gets candid about his timeless classic.DJ Neil Armstrong - Filthy [2005]Link 2Neil dedicates this mixtape to the "s...

Fonte: IOL Cinema

(Return to Part 1)BOB ANDELMAN: Were you surprised at how poor the film quality was from Apollo 11 compared to what there was later? I mean, it?s not like better equipment wasn?t available by 1969.DAVID SINGTON: The TV footage is very poor quality, but some of the film footage is fine. Our shots of Neil Armstrong stepping on the moon are not the ones that we are used to seeing, which is the TV downlink which is very, very fuzzy, but it?s a shot on film from inside the LEM, and you can see the reflection of Buzz Aldrin, the reflection in the window of Neil Armstrong taking that first step, so there is some pretty decent 16mm film footage, but there isn?t very much of it. There is a very small quantity. It?s interesting how the TV footage, though, improves between Apollo 11 and Apollo 17. By the time you get to Apollo 17, the color pictures coming back from the moon are getting reasonable quality, though they?re never as good as the actual film footage shot on the moon, which we sort ...

In the Shadow of the Moon, the new documentary directed by David Sington, captures all the emotion and enthusiasm about space travel that once transfixed the American public and seems strangely absent from today?s world of technology.I was eight years old when the Eagle landed on the Moon in July 1969. I haven?t been the same since. I anticipated a lifetime ahead of flying around the neighborhood with jet packs, manned missions to Mars, and all kinds of things that, before that July day, were science fiction and after, well, they seemed just around the corner. Now I?m approaching my 47th birthday, and none of my expectations of a space age came to pass. None. Zero. Zip.Watching In the Shadow of the Moon, I remembered that lost feeling. It?s a wonderful experience, which is why I looked forward to talking with director David Sington.DOWNLOAD THE MP3; LISTEN HERE.ALSO AVAILABLE AS A PODCAST ON iTUNES.Subscribe to Mr. Media's RSS Feed.BOB ANDELMAN: I loved the movie. Neil Armstrong To Jewish Kids: Fly Me To The Moon
2007-07-11 05:49:00
Neil Armstrong, the first man to ever walk upon the lunar surface not only visited the Holy Land recently, but also took time out to answer a few questions for some Israeli children.(MSNBC) Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, answered questions from Israeli children Tuesday in his first visit to the Holy Land, showing animation and energy in discussing the feelings and justification for space travel. ...Asked what lasting value the flights to the moon had, Armstrong responded they showed that "the human species, all of us, is not forever chained to the planet Earth." He added, "I hope that man continues to expand his and her presence in space in the years ahead."Armstrong had advice for youngsters who want to be an astronaut one day: "That requires getting a very good education, particularly in the fields of science and mathematics."During the question and answer session Neil discussed his disappointment about not finding life on the moon, although he encouraged everyone, e...

Others on the Moon
2007-04-22 19:23:00
Is there an "Alien Base" on the Moon? More and more people are coming forward with stories that might prove this is true. Rumors say that there is an Alien Moon Base on the far side of the moon, the side we never see from Earth. Did you ever wonder why the Moon landings stopped and why we have not tried to build a Moon Base? It does seem like a better and easier idea than a floating space station with no access to any raw materials or supplies? According to the NASA Astronaut Neil Armstrong the aliens have a base on the Moon and told us in no uncertain terms to get off and stay off the Moon! Sound far fetched? Milton Cooper, a Naval Intelligence Officer tells us that not only does the Alien Moon Base exist but the U.S. Naval Intelligence Community refers to the Alien Moon Base as "Luna," that there is a huge mining operation going on there, and that is where the aliens keep their huge mother ships while the trips to Earth are made in smaller "flying saucers". LUNA: The Alien ba...
