As the older kids move on and out (Oldest is on her own, and Middle is going to college in the fall, with The Boy to follow next year) we're thinking we don't need such a big house, and we might upgrade in new-ness and downgrade in size.And so we spend a lot of time driving around and looking at houses, but each one has a flaw in it, and the flaw is that, for each of the houses we see out there for sale, it's somebody else's house. Maybe I should go ahead and have that house warming party my friends keep asking for. I need to make sure that I put a paella pan, among others that I need on the list of gifts that I need or would like. Ms. Sue claims to be a fantastic organizer and able to get the best gifts out of people. 2008-05-29 00:00:00 I have a mere 12 minutes until my Laptop (running Ubuntu 7.10) is fully upgraded to the newest release, so it seems like a perfect time to spew a few updates of my own life. The last few weeks have been pretty chaotic, to say the least. Yan-Shih and I found our own place -- yay! We are located out in Pendle Hills. The commute to work isn't really that much different, and taking the bus is actually likely even a tad quicker. Living in a house again, as opposed to an apartment, is nice. Yan-Shih is warming to the idea rapidely, and generally appears to be enjoying herself. We did the move in one day, which considering we don't have that much stuff, isn't anything to brag about. However, we also picked up a few couches from Bondi that day, and more shopping at Ikea in the afternoon. Last weekend we picked up a fridge and washing machine.
