Why New York Giants vs. New England Patriots will be the most bet on Super
2012-01-31 16:17:00
Super Bowl XLVI pits the New York Giants against the New England Patriots, arguably the most intriguing and fortuitous pairing for the National Football League’s annual championship contest this year. This year’s game is the highly anticipated rematch of the very recent Super Bowl XLII, where the 13 1/2  point underdog Giants upset the then 15-0 undefeated Patriots in drama-tic fashion. The Patriots also seek to avenge a... Read more »

One dropped touchdown pass followed by one missed 32 yard field goal and two fumbles on punt returns?this could be an entirely different Super Bowl.  That?s all irrelevant now as we have a re-match from the 2008 Super Bowl in which the unbeaten Patriots were chasing perfection but despite being a 12 point underdog the (Read More...)
New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Preview
2012-01-18 18:45:00
NY Giants @ San Francisco  This game has an old school kind of feel to it, between 1981 and 1993 these teams slugged it out in the playoffs 6 times with both teams winning 3 a piece with the likes of Montana, Young & Rice going at it against Simms, Taylor & Ingram. The current (Read More...)
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints Destroy NY Giants
2011-11-29 09:27:00
Drew Brees and The New Orleans Saints are down right, rat-freaking annoying. They have exhibited the habit of playing in big games on Sunday and Monday Night this season, blowing out their opponents, then sucking like raw eggs the next Sunday. So, with that, look for the New Orleans Saints that totally destroyed the New (Read More...)
In The Red Zone: New York Giants at New England Patriots Preview ? Week 9
2011-11-04 11:00:00
This Week The New England Patriots host the New York Giants at Gillette Stadium on Sunday at 4:15 p.m. The Patriots (5-2) are 3-0 at The Razor, 1-0 against the NFC East and 1-0 vs. the NFC.  The Giants (5-2) are 2-1 on the road, 2-0 vs. the AFC East and 2-0 against the AFC. The Line/Prediction As of Thursday the line on the game from Yahoo! Sports has the Patriots at minus 9.  The over under is 51. My Prediction is Patriots 35, Giants, 28 take the points (Giants) and take the over.  I am 4-2-1 against the spread and 5 of 7 on calling the over/under in 2011. Tickets The Patriots are reporting the game as a sell out. It is the 187th consecutive sell out dating back to the 1994 season opener.  The record includes preseason, regular season and playoff games. Tickets to the game, if available, can be purchased through Ticketmaster.  You can check the availability here. NFL Preseason Week 2 Game Preview: Chicago Bears @ New York Giants
2011-08-18 09:45:00
Online Betting Overview The second week of the preseason is often used to try and get a good look at second and third-string players that have a chance of making an NFL roster. Teams like to make decisions on fringe players in the second week because they can then release the players and give them a chance to sign on somewhere else. The Chicago Bears looked decent in their preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills, but the offensive line was suspect. The Bills picked up nine sacks on the Bears? offense and held the first-string offense to no points. It is only preseason, but the Bills had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year. Yes, Buffalo has made some minor improvements to its defensive unit. But the Bears should be trying out a lot of offensive players in this game. Any NFL betting lines on the New York Giants are split into two halves. The Giants excel in the first half of the regular season, but they fall apart in the second half. Unfortunately, one of the reasons t...
Breaking Down Jay Cutler's Game Against the New York Giants
2010-10-04 02:59:00
1st Quarter, 1st Series1st play doesn't even get snapped. False start on Omiyale.Cutler's first pass of the night is complete to Hester in the flat. Not much yardage though.3rd and 10 and Cutler is sacked. Neither Lance Louis or Kevin Shaffer block adequately. About as horrible as a first series can go without turning over the ball. 2nd SeriesCutler completes to Bennett for 7 on first down.Swing pass to Forte for a first down.Cutler sacked again. Kevin Shaffer lost his block. Garza lost his too.Cutler hits Bennett on 2nd & 19. Breaking Down the New York Giants
2010-09-30 02:23:00
I've seen all three of the Giants games this season, having just finished watching their odd contest with the Tennessee Titans.  They dominated the awful Carolina Panthers in the second half.  They were dominated throughout by the Indianapolis Colts.  Here's what I discerned from the Titans tape.OffenseThe Giants run game that ushered them to a Super Bowl victory was up-the-gut with Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward, countered with Ahmad Bradshaw taking off on the outside.  Their interior run game is almost non-existent now and they gained all their significant yards on outside pitches to Bradshaw.  Against linebackers of our speed, I don't see that working.I counted a total of one completion made to a receiver in-stride, moving down the field...

Steelers-Giants Recap
2008-10-27 15:13:00
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a lead late in the fourth quarter at home and lost. Ben Roethlisberger was sacked five times, hit at least another dozen times and threw four interceptions. The team was 1 for 10 on third down, 0 for 4 on fourth down and had 8 penalties for 59 yards, many of them pretty stupid penalties. Plus, the Steelers defense who led the league in sacks coming into the game, failed to register a sack and rarely put pressure on Eli Manning. It was clearly not one of their best games. However, let?s take a step back and put everything into perspective. The Steelers are 5-2 and have a one game lead over Baltimore, who they already defeated, in the AFC North. The 5-2 record is tied for second best in the AFC with New England and Buffalo behind only the undefeated Tennessee Titans. The Steelers are 5-0 against AFC teams, a very important playoff tie-breaker, which along with the Titans, is the best in the conference. Yes, the team has some work to do, but there?s n...

Superbowl Recap: What Does 18-1 Really Mean?
2008-02-05 00:19:00
18-1. What does it mean? Sure, I was rooting for the Giants Sunday and sure I rooted against the Patriots almost any chance I got the entire season. However, what do we owe to 18-1? Is the season marked by the Superbowl loss?Unfortunately for the Patriots, they will forever be remembered as the team to go undefeated and lose in the Superbowl. It took 35 years to have another undefeated team with a perfect record going into the superbowl and it might be another 35+ before we see it happen again. It is indeed very possible that they go down as the only NFL team to EVER go 18-0 and lose in the superbowl in the history of the world. At a wide look, a Super Bowl loss looks bad for this Patriot dynasty. The '70s Steelers 4 for 4 in their Super Bowl appearances, as were the '80s 49ers. Thus I must say that Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana are always going to have something over Tom Brady. But during those Steeler and 49er dynasties, there were years when they lost in the playoffs before re...

Cuban music tribute to the New York Giants
2008-02-04 18:25:00
That had to be one of the best Super Bowls ever. Good job Giants. Cubans have a close relationship with New York. Before the sixties, New York was the preferred destination of ex-pat Cubans. Besides Ricky Ricardo, my dad lived there a couple of years. Finally, until they get smart, most Cubans are Yankees fans. Cuban musicians flocked to the Big Apple to play in clubs like the Tropicana and a good number- Arsenio Rodriguez, Chano Pozo, Pupi Campo, Xavier Cugat off the top of my head- stayed there for the rest of their careers. Many Cuban and Caribbean songs play off the symbiotic relationship between pre-revolutionary Cuba and a few mention Nueva York by name: Desi Arnaz (AKA Ricky) was quite a good performer in his pre-I Love Lucy days. This one's called La Conga en Nueva York. 1937-1947 If New York is a good friend to Cubans, it's Puerto Ricans' BFF. I can put up Nuyorican songs all day, but one that has Nueva York in the title is by Puerto Rico-based super-band El ...
