2008-02-05 08:21:00 Amy Adams is in talks to star alongside Ben Stiller in 20th Century Fox's "Night at the Museum 2." If she signs on, Adams will be playing an undetermined historical figure who has a crush on security guard Larry, to be played by Stiller, reports Variety. The new movie will tell the tale of what happens when the artefacts from the Museum of Natural History are boxed up and sent to the archives at the Smithsonian in Washington. Along with Stiller, director Shawn Levy is also returning to the sequel. He will be helming from a story scripted by Scott Frank who gave the most recent draft after writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. Levy's 21 Laps is producing alongside 1492 Pictures, Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe. The studio is eyeing a May start date in Vancouver with a U.S. release date set for May 22, 2009. (ANI)

2007-08-02 10:59:00 I'm a big fan of Ben Stiller and was quite looking forward to this film. Ricky Gervais, Steve Coogan, Robin Williams and Owen Wilson are also in it. Could this be the funniest film ever? Not really unfortunately. It does have its moments but pretty much all the comedians listed are underwhelming in one way or another. Ricky Gervais is pretty much David Brent without the suit on and doesn't fit in. Robin Williams doesn't really do any of the quick witted wise cracks that he's known for. The special effects are also billed as the star of the show, but honestly are a bit shoddy in places. The script is very very lightweight. Worth a watch but this is only a JM SUCK IT AND SEE.

Anything dealing with history tempts writers towards pedantry, but this movie thankfully steers away from too heavy a message and, instead, gives people of all ages a fun movie wrapped around the subtlest of invitations to learn more about history. Other messages include fatherly love, peace amongst men, and like Eragon below, duty.
