Most of them have strange looking flower-like and hair-like structure which actually give them the ability to adapt to low nutritional habitat.. u might not be able to recognize most of them.. but these are carnivorous plants that devour insects in their deadly "traps"..Sundew aliciae from S. Africa - It does look quite big in this photo.. but its actual size is just a "wee" bit thicker than our hair.. these curly hairs are one of deadliest to flies..Flowers of the Yellow pitcher plant..Sarracenia flava - Yellow pitcher plant.. A good fly catcher.. ever wonder if its in giant size & you are the one that drop into the plant?!Sarracenia courtil - Red coloured trumpet pitcher's flowers..So, how am I gonna adapt to the working in an hospital after graduation? To me, desire belongs in novels I would be too embarrassed to read and that U2 song where Bono likes to emphasize the ‘I’ in desire (sing it to yourself and you’ll figure out what part of the song I’m singing about). Truth is, I was at a party just this weekend and when the dessert tray was presented and I was questioned as to why I only had one sugary thing on my plate, I had to answer that if they had just brought out a tray full of little cubes of meat, I would have been much happier. That all being said, I have to confess that I have experimented in my past. It all started the summer after I left high school. A nice reprieve and carnivorous heaven
2007-02-15 16:54:08 Yesterday it was 24 degrees outside. Now while I realize to some of you this would be abhorrent, to us in the frozen Midwest, it was sheer heaven. We haven’t seen a temperature above a single digit for probably two weeks. I went out for a walk and nearly rolled in the snow in rapture. I know it sounds crazy, and the thought surely was. But to be able to be outside without being lashed by frigid air, or feel the cold go right through your thickest winter coat, fleece lined wool hat and thick fleece gloves, it took a few weeks of being both cooped up inside and dealing with sickness to understand the appeal of a good snow romp. The sun, the balmy air and the quiet of our local walking trail made for a beautiful afternoon jaunt. I got reacquainted with all the dogs on my walking route and took in copious amounts of fresh air and sunshine. A well-timed tonic for a winter weary soul. The average cat eats 10 to 20 small meals a day. That could keep you quite busy in the kitchen! Sauteed Liver for CatsHeat 1 teaspoon corn oil in a pan.Add 1/4 pound beef liver and fry on both sides until cooked but not dry inside. Add 1/2 cup water to the pan and mix it up with all the brown bits. Grind the liver in a blender, using the pan juices.Breakfast for Cats1 Tbsp. nonfat dry milk3 medium eggs3 Tbsp. cottage cheese2 Tbsp. grated veggiesMix together the milk powder with a small amount of water; add the eggs and beat well. Pour into a small non-stick frying pan and cook on medium low until done. Flip over and spread the cottage cheese and veggies over half the top. Fold like an omlet. Cool and cut to bite-sized pieces to serve.
