Michael Nobel praises Sathya Sai Baba but is badly misrepresented
2009-10-10 08:34:00
Dr. Michael Nobel is the great grand nephew of Alfred Nobel who founded the Nobel Prize. Dr. Nobel is also the Chairman of THE APPEAL OF NOBEL PEACE LAUREATES FOUNDATION. Below are extracts from a TV interview he gave to an Italian producer. The above is stated on the web page http://sathyasaibabaspeaks.blog-spot.com/2009/03/from-puttapart-hidr-michael-nobel-on.html. However, Dr. G. ...
Is 140 Characters Worthy Of The Nobel Peace Prize?
2009-07-19 22:43:00
Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama were all previous prize winners. Barack Obama may be in the running this year. So is it possible that his competition could possibly be a social network, the likes of Twitter?  Does a platform, an inanimate entity warrant the same consideration as a person?
No Nobel Peace Prize For Self-Claimed God of Gods Sathya Sai Baba
2009-06-18 03:15:00
Not far short of a decade ago, it had been announced in Sathya Sai Baba centers round the world that Sathya Sai Baba was a candidate for a Nobel Peace Prize. On behalf of our networked group of former followers of Sathya Sai Baba, I wrote to Dr Geir Lundestad, then Director of the Nobel Institute. An exchange of emails ensued, and I provided him with in-depth documentation concerning Sathya Sai Baba and his sect. Dr Lundestad emphasized that the policy of the Institute is never to issue any list of candidates, either before or after the winners of the Peace Prize are announced, and that the names of Nobel Prize recipients are announced, while the names of failed candidates are not revealed. Dr Lundestad's statements are a far cry from the announcement of Sathya Sai center leaders worldwide. Great had been the rejoicings of devotees, despite the fact that a Nobel Peace Prize - in an odd come-down from the dizzy heights of Heaven - would sit oddly encircling the neck of God.
?Black Sheep? Of Sweden?s Nobel Family Called By Ba-Ba (Sathya Sai Baba)
2009-06-14 05:08:00
One of Sathya Sai Baba's many hugely expensive and major Sai propaganda efforts has been the setting up of Sai Global Harmony via WorldSpace International Satellite Radio Service. It broadcasts 24/7 to many countries. A director of WorldSpace is Dr Michael Nobel, who, contrary to long-uncorrected statements (e.g., in Wikipedia) by Sai Baba activists, is NOT the son of the Nobel Peace founder Alfed Nobel ? who died in 1896! But he, though widely considered 'black sheep' of the Nobel family, has answered the Ba-ba call of Sathya Sai Baba who, absurdly, told the Australian journalist, that when Jesus, the Lamb of God, called 'Ba-Ba', he was referring to Sathya Sai Baba! The Nobel 'black sheep' is making more than a bleat or too but has extended his international satellite broadcasting corporation to send Sai Baba propaganda across the air-waves of the world.

Since getting married to Ryan Reynolds, a single picture of Scarlett Johansson has not surfaced. Now it sounds like we may finally get our answer. Scar Joe is co-hosting the 15th annual Nobel Peace Prize Concerts on December 11th!The 15th annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo Dec. 11, held as always the day after the Nobel Prize is handed out in Norway."We're extremely pleased Ms. Johansson will join us for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert," Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Geir Lundestad, said. "Her compassion and influence will help us tremendously in our mission of spreading the global message of peace."The announcement also heralded a return to the Scandinavian roots of the actress who holds, for those unaware, dual U.S. and Danish citizenship.sourceFor more HOT new gossip visit www.poponthepop.com!!!!
International awards and Sathya Sai Baba
2008-07-12 12:00:00
Sathya Sai Baba has never won any recognised international award. Yet it was made known that his ?holy? name was submitted by Vajpayee’s Indian Government for the Nobel Peace Prize (politically naive and doomed from the start!). Firstly, Sathya Sai Baba supports those who have been vastly increasing the militarism and the nuclear arsenal of ...

The chance of this was strongly hinted at by the Sai Baba himself, saying: in his 18 November 2001 Discourse “They are giving the Nobel Prize to ...

It’s insanity, stupid! Al Gore and that Nobel Peace Prize
2007-10-16 13:48:00
by Gabriele Zamparini The Nobel Peace Prize to Al Gore opened a heated debate: was it right to award a mass murderer and war criminal? This is a curious question that certainly would have a meaning in a sane world, certainly not in ours. A few days ago, commenting on this blog about this ordinary episode of folly, I wrote that Al Gore was “(…) a top war criminal that in a sane world would be hanged or imprisoned for life. But we are not living in a sane world – just in case someone wonders – and it’s not the first time that a war criminal and mass murderer has been rewarded with the Nobel Peace Prize.” On CounterPunch, Alexander Cockburn wrote, “When Gore goes to get the prize [… he] should be forced to march through a gauntlet of widows and orphans, Serbs, Iraqis, Palestinians, Colombians, and other victims of the Clinton era.” These words give exactly the value of the Nobel Peace Prize to Al Gore. Unfortunately Cockburn mixes this argument (that I share totally) wit...

A Nobel Peace Prize in the 2008 Circus for the White House?
2007-10-15 11:28:00
by Gabriele Zamparini Bill Clinton's former vice president Al Gore has won (together with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) the Nobel Peace Prize "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change" This Nobel Prize will hopefully help to focus time and resources into the battle against Climate Change. But there could be another side effect of this Prize in the short term. Will Al Gore run now for the White House in 2008? As vice president during the Clinton era, Al Gore did certainly share all the responsibility for the huge crimes against humanity his administration inflicted upon millions of people on this planet. Just let’s remember the genocidal UN embargo and the illegal bombing of the notorious No Fly Zones in Iraq; and then Sudan, Yugoslavia and many other places where Uncle Sam has always been terrifying...

Al Gore Wins Nobel Peace Prize, Existence of Alternate Universe Now Proven
2007-10-13 17:31:00
Only in an alternate universe should Al Gore be able to win a Nobel Peace Prize for his relentless ravings about man-made global warming and the potential for planetary doom. And yet . . . And yet he just did. Well, okay, he won it jointly with the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. But c’mon, this is all about Al because without his interminable climatic scaremongering, there probably wouldn’t have been a UN panel. So it goes without saying that the Nobel folks are impressed by ponderous sounding claptrap such as, “We face a true planetary emergency. It is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity. It is also our greatest opportunity to lift global consciousness to a higher level.” Whatever. But what does his messianic posturing about global warming have to do with “peace,” anyway? As I said when he was first nominated for the Peace Prize, if he can get some of the world’s most violent people to lay down their ar...
Reinvent Yourself, a lá Al Gore: Nobel Peace Prize
2007-10-13 12:45:00
As you already know by now, former Vice-President Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I won’t enter into whether or not he deserved it, but it is another step in his “re-invention”, of which I wrote a post a couple of months ago. I decided to re-post it, for those of you who didn’t read it the first time: Successful investor. Best-selling author. Oscar-award winner. Movie producer. Multimillionaire. Savvy businessman. Ten years ago nobody would have fathomed that those terms would someday describe Al Gore. Yet they do. In the past decade he has founded Generation Investment Management and Current TV, produced An Inconvenient Truth, and wrote best-selling books such as his last one, The Assault on Reason. Granted, you don’t have to agree with his politics or views. But nobody can deny that he has transformed himself from a mocked and non-charismatic politician into a thriving businessman and leader in environmental issues. The former Vice-President...

Earlier today, after Al Gore was named a co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Fox News kicked off the right-wing smear attacks on the former Vice President, comparing him to “Yasser Arafat and that crazy Jimmy Carter.” Aside from it being a perfectly insightful comment from whomever, TP, Media Matters et al are so over-doing this nonsense, they're all but marginalizing themselves. I thought it was the Nobel *Peace* Prize?
2007-10-13 00:40:00
Alfred Nobel is spinning in his grave right now. When I saw the headline on my daily email from TheScientist.com, “Calling all charlatans” I thought the article was going to address the Nobel Peace Prize having been awarded to Al “I founded the Internet” Gore. You know, the guy with the carbon footprint that is more than twenty (20) times the national average? (And the guy whose ‘tolerant’ groupies make threats of death upon anyone who dares to stand up to him about it.) Even if we take leave of our collective senses long enough to twist reality and stipulate that Al Gore’s global warming theories are facts (yeah I know, but let’s just pretend for a minute), how in the hell does that justify bestowing the Nobel Peace Prize upon him? Alfred Nobel, himself, defined the award as such: “…and one part to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity among nations, for the abolition or reduction of s...

In recognition of "their efforts to build up and disseminate knowledge about man-made climate change", Al Gore and the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have been announced as co-winners of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. In awarding the honour, the Nobel committee singled out Al Gore as "probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted". President Bill Clinton expressed similar feelings,"Gore's ex-boss, former President Clinton, also said he's 'thrilled by this well-deserved recognition,' and credited Gore with 'warning and educating us about the dangers of climate change for decades. He saw this coming before others in public life.'"Gore stated that he will donate his half of the $1.5 million dollar prize to the Alliance for Climate Protection, an organization he founded to persuade people to reduce global warming by cutting greenhouse gas pollution. You can see the announcement vi...

2007-10-12 19:26:00
The Nobel Peace Prize has officially become meaningless. It was pretty ridiculous when Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin were nominated for the Prize, and Yasser Arafat and Jimmy Carter won. But now, apparently, the award is being given to the biggest failure in the History of the World: Al Gore.Al Gore, who rode the short bus to school, lost a Presidential election, and created a propaganda film that needs a warning label to protect students in Britain, has just won the Nobel Peace Prize. Pathetically, Al Gore gets to share this award with the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an organization where real scientists had to sue to get their names removed from the list of contributors because of its baseless conclusions. The ?World?s Greatest Grandpa? has officially become a more prestigious award. The justification for giving the Prize to Al Gore was, "His strong commitment, reflected in political activity, lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle aga...
