Noctua Has Nehalem Coolers on Display
2008-06-05 21:30:00
Noctua, an Austrian designer of silent coolers, announced that would roll out some new products, among which two coolers and a mounting mechanism. The LGA1366 mounting kits will be available both for the coolers currently on the market and for the company’s products rolled out since 2005. The mounting kits will be much simpler to ...
Noctua NH-C12P CPU Cooler Review
2008-05-05 00:00:00
Noctua (http://www.noctua.at) has honored us with the privilege of being their US launch partner for their new CPU cooler. The C12P continues Noctua's tradition of striving for performance without sacrificing quality along the way. The C12P is like no other Noctua designed cooler to date, and not much like any other CPU cooler I've even seen actually. It incorporates six heatpipes into a short, fat style body that Noctua calls a 'C-Type' design with airflow gaps that allow cooling of the motherboard components as well. This design allows for a much higher compatibility with more motherboards and PC case configurations, where a tall CPU cooler won't fit the NH-C12P will fit easily. The NH-C12P uses Noctua's own NF-P12 120mm fan for cooling so you know it will be quiet as well. The Noctua NH-C12P is possibly the best cooler on the market today, from my testing and re-testing it beats all others I have for comparison, and that includes names like Thermalright,...
Noctua NH-U12P Heatpipe CPU Cooler
2008-05-03 02:00:00
Noctua has always fascinated me with their cooling solutions. They take the concept of product refinement to a new level, and often times simply tweak key areas of an existing design rather than reinventing the wheel. A perfect example of their research and development is found in the NH-U12P CPU cooler. This new product replaces their older NH-U12F model, and now features a NF-P12 cooling fan. Through the use of four heat-pipe rods configured in a U design, the NH-U12P borrows from the well-established performance record of many top-level coolers. Additionally, Noctua emphasises the complete experience beyond simply cooling the processor, and optimizes their products to operate with very low noise levels.
Noctua NH-U9B CPU Cooler Review
2008-04-09 00:00:00
Noctua (http://www.noctua.at), it's the NH-U9B CPU cooler. It's essentially a revision of the NH-U9F CPU cooler that I reviewed almost two years ago here on DSM. Yes, I've still got it on hand as well and I've found that the U9B is actually a bit smaller than the U9F, but yet gets better results, so they've done something right... The NH-U9B comes packaged with Noctua's own NT-H1 Thermal Compound and their new NF-B9 92mm fan as well. It includes mounts for popular CPU platforms, and even an extra set of fan clips to add another fan for increased cooling performance. As usual Noctua goes the distance when it comes to including nice quality extras with their products, but those extras don't mean much when the main product doesn't perform... So read on to see how the new Noctua NH-U9B CPU cooler performs and to see comparison shots side-by-side with the original NH-U9F...
Noctua NH-U12P beats the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
2008-03-24 14:34:00
Noctua NH-U12P: Top Performance AND Silence: "Conclusion: Past test results with Noctua coolers taught us to respect Noctua's claims. Like Thermalright, Noctua has a track record of delivering what they promise. However, the two companies really come to cooling with different areas of expertise. Thermalright has a long history of top-performing coolers. Thermalright doesn't ship coolers with fans, so Thermalrights require top-performing fans to end up as top performers. You can also control noise by selecting a fan that exhibits ultra low noise. Fans than can provide good performance with low noise tend to shine on Thermalright heatsinks.Noctua on the other hand has a sterling reputation for developing the lowest noise coolers around. Their fans are masters of low noise, with respectable performance that is always near the top but rarely challenging for first place performance. For this reason, we were a bit skeptical when Noctua claimed top performance with incredibly low publish...
Noctua NF-B9 92mm Fan Review
2008-03-06 00:00:00
Up on the review block today we've got a fan! Yep it's a plan old fan, well sort of, it's from Noctua so that should tell you that it's not just any plain old fan right? The NF-B9 is a 92mm fan that is very different from every other fan out there on the market today, it has teeth on the blade, well technically they are called Vortex Control Notches, but they look like teeth to me. Anyway, the NF-B9 also has beveled blade tips, and Noctua's own SC Drive system and SSO bearing to make for one very quiet fan that still can move quite a bit of air. So, let's just get right into this review...
Noctua announces a new CPU cooler
2008-02-26 14:59:00
Fudzilla: "After the great success of the NH-U12P CPU cooler, Noctua decided to launch a new cooler as a part of its compact NH-U9 series, which use the smaller 92mm fan. This new CPU cooler, named NH-U9B, uses Noctua's recently announced NF-B9 92mm fan, and just like NH-U12P comes packed with Noctua's highly praised NT-H1 thermal compound. According to the press release, the new NH-U9B is ideal for HTPC's and other small cases. The new NH-U9B uses four dual heatpipes to connect the heatsink to the base of the cooler. As it was mentioned, the NH-U9B uses Noctua's NF-B9 premium fan which provides high airflow and pressure performance at low noise levels. It also uses both Noctua's award winning NH-U design and SecuFirm multi-socket mounting system with support for LGA 775, AM2 and AM2+ processors. It should be available immediately at a recommended price of €46.90 or US$54.90."

Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compound Review
2008-01-03 00:00:00
There are so many companies out there now making their own thermal compounds now, most every company that makes a CPU cooler now has their very own thermal compound to go with it. Is that a bad thing? Not really, but how does a person know which one is really the best choice where the choices are so many? Well that's why there are sites like this one to help people make informed decisions by throughly testing these products and comparing them to the other leading brands out there. I just reviewed the Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler and with it came a small sample of their new NT-H1 thermal compound, they also sent me a full tube as well to test for review purposes. It just so happened I was also in process of doing a thermal paste round-up comparison when this arrived for review so the timing was great to get a good comparison of the NT-H1 against the four others I'd already tested so far. So continue on to learn more about the new Noctua NT-H1 thermal compound and see how it compares ...
Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler Reviewed
2007-12-27 00:00:00
I've reviewed quite a few Noctua products in the past on DragonSteelMods and I have found everyone that I reviewed to be an overall excellent product. Noctua makes great products, there is no doubt about that, you can look all over the internet and you'll be hard pressed to find a negative comment or review about any of their products. The only negative comments I have seen about Noctua products are their prices, they are a bit high compared to others, but there is a saying 'You get what you pay for' and this is very true as most of us know. To get a premium quality product you'll pay a premium price, personally I don't think Noctua products are over-priced at all, they are priced competitively with other comparable products of the same quality and performance. So, without further comments, I've got the new Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler for review today and it is what we've come to expect from Noctua: excellent quality and performance. So continue on...
Noctua NF-P12 120MM Fan Review
2007-12-09 00:00:00
We've reviewed quite a few fans here at DragonSteelMods lately and today we've got yet another one, but this one is a bit different, it's from Noctua. At first glance the NF-P12 looks like other Noctua fans, but upon closer inspection you'll notice it has what appears to be serrated fan blades. The serrations are called Vortex-Control Notches actually and they help to keep the NF-P12 running quietly and efficiently at all of the available speeds. I've always been a fan of Noctua products, one reason I like them is their appearance, they say looks aren't everything, but with Noctua their looks are part of their charm. I've also found that their products perform consistently well in all of my testings, but the main reason I like Noctua products is for the amount of time and money that goes into their R D of all of their products. Noctua is a company committed to producing high-quality, high-performance products and will do whatever it takes to achieve those goals.
