Some thoughts on the Northern Illinois University killings
2008-02-18 07:08:00 R.I.P, God keep the victims. Some thoughts: 1. Nobody should make gun control points-pro or con- on the day of the massacre. 2. People shouldn't make cultural points based on one incident, unless that incident is part of a legitimate trend. 3. I must be part of a minority of people who find criminals boring. I don't care about what made them that way, who did or didn't love them, their world view. I especially don't care about whether his girlfriend loved him or not or her thoughts on anything. 4. Dennis Prager makes the point and I agree: That nobody should say anything about healing, forgiving, or "moving on" unless they're family of the victims. A college president saying that we must heal at the first press conference after the tragedy is pathetic. 5. I've never been grief counseled so I admit ignorance and what I'm saying, therefore, may be out of line, but they seem to be part of the "do something" disease that Michael Medved talks about. What does a counselor do? ...

Asa s-a intamplat ieri, cand un fost student al universitatii Ilinois, a intrat intr-o sala de curs si a deschis focul. Din acest atac au rezultat cinci morti (patru fete si un baiat) si 18 raniti, dintre care 4 se afla in stare grava la spital. Atacatorul avea asupra sa doua pistoale si o pusca. Ulterior el s-a sinucis la fata locului, fara a fi cunoscuta cauza acestui atac.
