Govt. Issues Show-Cause Notices To TelCos For Under – Reporting Reven
2012-02-02 06:37:00 India’s Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued Show Cause Notices to India’s five private operators, including Bharti Airtel , Vodafone and Reliance Communications, for under reporting revenues. As per a special audit report conducted for the period between 2006 to 2008, gross discrepancies about the actual revenue generated & the one reported, were found. This was allegedly done in order to pay much lower license fees. This has resulted in a loss of over Rs. 1600 Crores (US$ 330 Million) that is now being sought from the TelCos. Communications Minister Mr. Sibal confirmed the same yesterday & his department has put forth a condition to deposit about 1000 Crores immediately & only after that the companies will get to meet the Minister face-to-face to explain their side of the story. Indiana University says that starting on April 21, the Recording Industry Association of America began sending 80 legal notices a day to the university, under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Typically, the university handles less than 100 such notices a month from the RIAA, the Motion Picture Association of America and HBO combined. The DMCA notices include information about a specific IP address, file sharing protocol and named infringing file. He did not pay rent through the notice period, he did not give me any notice he was moving, he did not clean, he left some personal belongings and he did not return any keys. He did give me a forwarding address. I mailed him a charges due notice with added late fees. The LPA agreement he signed states 15$ additional daily late fee so more charges have accumulated since that first notice.Should I give him another charges due notice with the additional late fees? What additional notices should I give him to be prepared before filing with small claims? At his point I dont want to hire council.Thanks for any information.
