2008-06-02 16:44:00 Jim Carrey plays Walter Sparrow, an animal control worker who's wife gives me a book called The Number 23, written by Topsy Ekkrets (aka Top Secrets). The book follows a detective by the name of "Fingerling", as he solves crimes and has violent sex with a luscious Italian woman. Walter begins to realize that the book almost parallels his life but there are some holes that don't match up. Then the book lays down the idea of the 23 Enigma: that everything in the world, can somehow be traced back to the number 23. Walter goes crazy trying to figure out who wrote the book in hopes it will stop his obsession with the number.The movie is a thriller, so I wasn't really scary. In fact most of the interesting or thrilling moments happen in the book. In the real world, Walter is very plain and somewhat boring up until the last 10 minutes of the movie. I liked Carrey in this. Guys from mVs continue to shine above all other TS/SCR groups while they released a new screener of The Number 23, a nice mysterious thriller with Jim Carrey in the main role. It’s little sad it too so long for this movie from first cams to this screener, the movie is screened for almost 4 months now so one would expect a fine dvdrip instead. Anyway, this is a very nice screener with little dark but clear and sharp almost-fullscreen image. One more note about the NFO included in this release. We saw the movie The Number 23, a psychological thriller, starring Jim Carrey and Virginia Madsen. The concept behind the movie was interesting. Right away, one can see the importance of the number 23 in the film. The "23 Enigma" is the Discordian belief that all events are connected to the number 23, given enough ingenuity on the part of the interpreter. Jim Carrey plays a man whose life begins to unravel after his wife gives him a book (entitled The Number 23) for his birthday. As he gets more into the book, he begins to believe that the book is about his own life. He becomes obsessed with the number 23 and it consumes his him- his thoughts, his life...everything.
