Well, this time I have got to thank Kelly and Ben, our Daring Bakers' hosts this month for our house producing and eating danish braids and various other danishes all month long....for real. Not that I made a big batch of it and ate it throughout the month. No...to easy....I sat down yesterday actually counting the times I had made the recipe they provided for June: 1 full batch and 3 half batches. As many of you know, we have a German exchange student this year...for the whole year...his relatives have sent us cases and then more cases of Nutella. You know, that hazelnut chocolate spread stuff in a jar that kids would eat all day if you let them. I guess the Germans don't know that we have that stuff here now...I think the stuff they sell in the States comes from Canada. Per dire, personalmente non vado oltre la crêpe, perché tutto il resto mi sembra in qualche modo fare inutili aggiunte a ció che, di suo, giá sfiora la perfezione :D...Perció, panennutella, forever and ever! Solo su una cosa insisto, quando si puó: che sia pane-pane, fragrante, profumato, magari con la crosta giustamente croccante, di quello insomma che ne mangeresti un chilo intero insieme al tuo dolce, irresistibile barattolo. 2008-02-04 13:36:00 500 g Nutella150 g ground walnuts200 g ground Plazma biscuits+ 100 g for rolling ina few Tbsp rumStir Nutella until it's very soft. Add walnuts, stir again. Start adding Plazma slowly, stirring continuously. At the end add rum to taste. Start with 1 Tbsp, taste and continue adding it until you're satisfied with the amount of rum inside. Shape the truffles and roll them in the remaining biscuits. Also, be careful not to add too much biscuit to the batter because truffles will become harder in the fridge. I grew up yearning for it, as mine was probably the only Italian household where it was forbidden. My parents would mention something about it being unhealthy and too processed, every time I would throw a hissy fit in the supermarket aisle. I do thank my mom these days, since I would probably be at least 60 lbs heftier, had Nutella been a part of my adolescent diet. As much as I crave great, dark chocolate as an adult, as a teenager I would overdose on anything and everything cocoa, insisting on quantity - and definitely NOT quality. But Nutella is a great treat, albeit it one that should be consumed sparsely. Reading the list of ingredients is enough to scare any sensible adult… Anyway, Nutella is available in some supermarkets and at Little Italy’s grocer extraordinaire Di Palo. 2007-11-27 19:31:00 Ingredientes: 3 mandarinas200 gr. de azúcar3 huevos70 gr. de aceite de girasol175 gr. de harinaun sobre de levadura Royal Elaboración:En el vaso de la Thermomix, poner las mandarinas a cuartos con su piel, vigilando que no hayan semillas, los huevos y el azúcar. Batir a velocidad 4 durante 3 minutos. Ańadir el aceite de girasol y batir a velocidad 5 unos segundos. Ańadir la levadura y la harina tamizada y batir unos segundos a velocidad 5. Echar 3/4 de la mezcla en un molde embadurnado de mantequilla, echar pegotes de Nutella por todo el alrededor de la masa y echar el resto de la masa por encima. 2007-02-08 03:42:03 I missed World Nutella Day. It was yesterday. How could I have not known about this most delectible holiday? Nutella is a staple at our house. We go through it faster than ketchup. What is Nutella you ask? Only the nectar of the gods. Here is the official Nutella website. It is a chocolate-hazelnut spread that was wildly popular in Europe far before it ever crossed the Atlantic to the US. I first had Nutella in Paris when I went in High School. It was spread lovingly onto a freshly made crepe by a street vendor in Paris. I loved it from the first moment, but it was many years later before I ever saw it in a store in Oklahoma. Now the hardest part is making sure a full jar stays around long enough that Ashley doesn’t eat it all. Maybe I need to start a secret Nutella stash. Happy World Nutella Day (a day late)!
