2009-09-23 18:48:00 Following it's first championship title with its driver, Ben Norton, who has won the Castle Combe Circuit's Formula Ford 1600 Championship, the College has announced it is to back the circuit's Formula Ford Carnival. The event rounds off the year at the Castle Combe Circuit on Saturday October 3 and attracts the cream of the country's FF1600 pilots to compete in a knock out series of heats to find the top driver. The Wiltshire College's Motorsport facility is based at the circuit and in only its third full year, developed and ran an Australian Spectrum chassis for Ben Norton, who tied up his championship title with one round still left to run. I am a big proponent of evolution, but Microsoft has again punted with a micro-evolutionary move from the (relatively) solid Windows XP operating system. Microsoft Vista was more like a mutated post-apocalyptic mistake that may seem to have been revolutionary by some, but over reaching and stagnant by most. How many organization do you know that migrated to Vista? I would guess you could not name many – if any. Looking back over the progression of the Windows platform, Windows 2000 was really a revolution – an honest break from the old 16-bit DOS platform. Windows XP was a really good evolutionary step after 2000 – it certainly did not have the DNA makeup that allows it to be seen as a revolution from 2000. So Ive decided instead, to play it smart (for a change) and do a shorter race much closer to home. The SJ Rock and Roll half marathon is a relatively new race here in this part of California, but its received really good reviews and my friends rave about it.
