Central Ohio Tea Party

I should have dedicated the little iced tea poll I did yesterday to home inspector Jimmy Braezele ... not familiar with Jimmy? That's because he's in Mississippi... although due to the licenselessness state of Ohio Home Inspector, Jimmy has threatened I mean offered to come do home inspections in Columbus Ohio. In What's Cooking America - Iced Tea History by Linda Stradley wrote: "There are two traditional iced teas in the United States. The only variation between them is sugar. Southerners swear by their traditional sweet ice tea and drink it by the gallons. In the South, ice tea is not just a summertime drink, it is served year round with most meals. When people order tea in a Southern restaurant, chances are they will get sweet ice tea. Outside of the southern states, iced tea is served unsweetened or "black," and most people have never even heard of sweet tea." Columbus do you like "sweet tea" or ... what do you call iced tea that is not sweet? Iced tea? "unsweetene...

Why 23-cent pizza and not FREE pizza Thursday (May 8) in the Northeast Ohio
2008-05-06 06:04:00
Papa John's Pizza has issued an apology to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cavalier LeBron James for making T-shirts with LeBron's number and the word "crybaby" under it, T-shirts that appeared at Friday's playoff game with the Washington Wizards in Washington. "They were being stupid," Dan Schuler said. "That shirt was an insult to all of Cleveland." Papa John's is offering 23-cent pizza Thursday (May 8), the day the Cavaliers play the Boston Celtics in Boston, to fans who may have had a "bad taste" left in their mouths after the T-shirt incident. Why 23-cent pizza and not FREE ? Because Lebron James is "The Number 23".As part of the apology to Cavs fans, Papa John's corporate public relations Director Tish Muldoon said Monday that all 44 Papa John's shops in the Northeast Ohio area will provide one large, one-topping pizza for carry-out/pick-up only, for customers. The stores open at 10 a.m. and customers can call or come in to a shop to get the deal. However, no home delivery o...

Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum in Baltimore: Family Fun With or Without t
2008-05-03 07:03:00
Jodifur just wrote a hilarious account and photo diary of her and her family's "Day Out with Thomas" experience at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore. My own 4 and 2 year olds are train-crazy and this obsession has become a family pastime that has taken us to the National Capital Trolley Museum, Strasburg Railroad in Lancaster County, Walkersville Southern Railroad and the B&O ourselves. I also believe that we should own stock in the Wheaton and Cabin John mini trains, have brought a travel potty on Metro and have taught my kids to cheer on the White Flint Express when we chug past Williams-Sonoma.ANYWAYS, we love love the B&O as a family day trip, but we have always avoided the big Thomas shin-digs, much to our son's dismay. The photos I have seen from the events and from the promo clips at the beginning of the Thomas and Friends DVDs look so sweet, a wholesome family day celebrating the bygone era of the steam engine. Toot toot! However, Jodi has told me all I nee...
