Blue Owl Mondays
2008-06-09 16:00:00
Notice the new naming structure on all these events where Monday + Blue + Free Booze = Good Times. Speakeasy style east-side lounge Blue Owl does not have turntables and heavy bass. Instead, they opt for a laid back cocktail vibe. Tonight they ease you into the work week with two hour of complimentary Plymouth Gin. 21+ Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

Blue Monday
2008-06-09 16:00:00
Blue Monday is a classic southern take on easing in your work week. A bourbon open bar can be dangerous, luckily there's some tasty BBQ available (not free) and live blues to keep you sedated if you can get out of work fast enough to hit the slope. note: since I finally got a chance to stop by this place, here's a little bit of info... it's only free bourbon with food purchase. Man's gotta eat through, right? Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

5th Annual Loving Day
2008-06-08 16:00:00
Please note that this was originally incorrectly listed as June 1st, the correct date is June 8th. Sorry for any confusion (I was sleepy). "Come celebrate the 40th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial marriage in the U.S." It's the 5th Annual Loving Day Celebration with special guest (and personal favorite) DJ Spooky. Plus Dhundee, free BBQ, Free beer from 3-4, Free Ben & Jerry's from 3-4, and raffles all day. Plus, its all ages! Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

Wakozi Open Bar
2008-06-05 16:00:00
Oh Kazaa... how I miss your 3am deliveries of Ben & Jerry's and beer (and a walkman if you needed such thing.) But alas the "get anything you want any time you want" internet delivery biz has been slow in NYC since folks like Kazaa and Urban Fetch went belly up. Enter, Wakozi, a middle man of sorts between you and your local delivery bodega. Celebrate the site launch today with a little party featuring two hours of Miller Lite (which needs to be served for two hours to get the alcohol content of one normal hour of open bar) and Fred Water. I guess that makes for a pretty cheap happy hour. 21+ Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

Maybe its the free mid-week booze, or maybe its the DJ sets. Whatever it is, if your looking to get down with a bunch of strangers tonight then this is the spot. 21+ Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

By now you all know my love for Blue Owl... Its nice to have a not so pretentious cocktail lounge downtown that you can grab a drink after work without too much fuss. And while I can no longer imbibe my love of gin at this weekly gathering, at least I can still enjoy a fine vodka cocktail in one of the finer downtown cocktail spots still free of midtown cheese. (not that there is anything wrong with midtown, my inner New Jersey love's me a stint at Johnny Utahs here and there.) 21+ Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

Disco Down

Happy Ending is always good for a little late night booze-fest and tonight is no exception. Dirty Disco mixes all the sounds the kids are diggin' these days... or in 1987... disco (duh), brit pop, indie, and new wave. While this will never replace the insanely debaucherous Sh!t Hammered weekly where I once saw 4 Hassids shoot tequila while 2 lesbians made out on a bed in the middle of the dance floor - it should still prove to be a good time. 21+ Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

This one seems to be flying below the radar so it may be a great chance for you to rub shoulders with some tourists, grab a few free drinks, and take in some of the best electro Paris has to offer. The Parisian Panik party debuts in NYC tonight with some heavy-hitting DJ sets from SebastiAn (Ed Banger Records/FR), The Shoes (GUM/FR), Yuksek (UWE/FR), and Brodinski (Mental Groove/FR). Line-up look familiar? You can pretty much catch the same show that went down at Studio B on wednesday for free tonight. Be sure to get a few free drinks in early as cocktail prices go from zero to $12 at 11pm. 21+ Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit
