How much time do you spend in your hotel room?
2008-05-30 04:11:00 I wasn’t exactly astounded to read that Brits spend more than half their holidays in their hotel and hotel room. If you think about it logically you probably spend eight hours in bed, one hour having showers, doing hair, make up etc and one hour eating breakfast. So already that’s a total of 10 hours ...

2008-02-18 12:13:00 I’m Scottish and moved to Berwick upon Tweed two years ago. I christened the area Scengland as it does feel like either Scotland or England to me. Berwick upon Tweed, lies in far north eastern corner of Northumberland. Evidently more than 60 % of Berwick residents would like be in Scotland. The majority party in ...

More time spend researching holidays than mortgages
2008-01-17 13:17:00 Evidently UK residents are willing to spend more time researching their holiday than their mortgage. While 36% of Brits spend more than 10 hours researching a leisure trip, only 22% would be wiling to spend this amount of time on finding the best mortgage deal. Is this a rational use of time? I don’t think ...

2007-12-12 09:54:00 Believe it or not, Scotland’s most iconic image is a disused coalmine, the Lady Victoria Colliery. The Colliery, which polled 20,000 votes, was voted top from a short list of ten archive images including Rosslyn Chapel and the Rennie Mackintosh School of Art in Glasgow. Lady Victoria Colliery is now home to the Scottish Mining Museum. Lady ...

2007-09-19 12:18:00 It’s been a very unsettling few days in the UK with images of long queues of customers outside the sticken Northern Rock bank. Latest Opinion Poll Shows Fred Thompson Running Clear Second to Giuliani
2007-09-13 19:37:00 Fred Thompson is riding high on public interest in his candidacy for Republican presidential candidate by running a clear second to the former mayor of new York Rudy Giuliani in an opinion poll published this week. A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed Wednesday that the former actor turned politician is at 26 percent -- up 6 points since the beginning of August while Giuliani slipped one point to 32 percent. Though behind Giuliani, the poll shows Thompson securing clear second place for the first time. A spokesman for the Thompson camp, Jeff Sadosky, told the New York Daily News that the polls showed, "...the American public was searching for another alternative." The poll showed Arizona Senator John McCain now trailing Thompson by 12 percentage points at 14 percent with Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on 11 percent.

2007-07-21 13:44:00 My suspicions have been confirmed by a recent poll where more than two thirds of UK holidaymaker’s don’t consider the effect that their Summer holiday flight will have on the environment. Travellers are more concerned about disappointing acommodation or losing their bags than any pollution caused by their flight. Only 4% of holidaymakers ...
Pickage holidays: Why didn?t I think of that?
2007-07-17 12:25:00 No, this is not one of my typo errors but a very appropriate name for holidays where bookers pick the elements of their holiday separately rather than the traditional package holiday where they purchase the complete holiday. Photo by Mat Honan It’s one of those phrases that you ask yourself why didn’t I think of that? ...
