This simple boy (or so he thinks) is overwhelmed with the responsibility and legacy that he has to live up to. The books follow his life as he learns more about magic and himself. There are very few who haven't read the books or heard his name. I haven't read all the books, but I'm still a big fan of the series, and the movies as well. You don't have to be a genius to realize that Harry Potter as a part of interactive media is a great idea; basically a game on Harry Potter makes a lot of sense. But sadly, the past games based on the various movies have been a major disappointment, with none of them even remotely representing the Harry Potter universe in its full glory. This time around, although the game looks a little better, it plays just the same. You will enjoy the game for the first 1 hour or so, but then the rest...
Pogo will not air Order of the Pheonix
2008-04-26 10:48:00 So it is now crystal clear that Pogo is not going to air Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in hindi (dub).Generally, Pogo airs all Harry Potter movies. but this time Pogo is going to air only Goblet of Fire and some new movies like Krrish and Dragonheart will be going to be broadcasted in May Movie Magic.The most important reason for not airing Order of the Phoenix is because 'one year gap' between theatrical release and tv premiere. OOTP, as we all know was released in India on June 13th 2007, and Pogo airs Harry Potter movies in May (each year). So, this clears everything about why Pogo is not going to air OOTP.Anyway, we all have to wait one big year for Pogo to air OOTP. But enjoy May Movie Magic only on Pogo.

However, some online stores enabled the pre-ordering of the DVD, and in some big stores, in Mumbai and Bangalore it was available since November 15th for Shopping. But today it was released in whole India.Saregama has released two versions of the movie. One is Two Disc Special Edition DVD (in English only) and the other is movie only VCD (in English and well as Hindi).Two Disc Special Edition DVD is priced at Rs. 699 (INR / around 17.7 USD)VCD version is priced at Rs. 299 (INR/ around 7.6 USD) .It looks like HD-DVD edition and Bluray will NOT going to released in India. Confusion is about deleted scenes. Early reports this month said that there are 7 minutes of additional footage. After that news came out that the additional scenes are of 17 minutes. And now some sites suggests that the deleted scenes are of 30 minutes (as Marcie of DR.net says).So confusion is what is the real length?I think this will be going to releaved when we will see the back-artwork of Order of the Phoenix's Two Disc Special Edition.Hey hang-on one more confusion that, when DVD is going to release in India? Saregama Home Video's site is currently offline for some upgradation so there is no info about his matter. Hopefully all these 'confusions' will be over soon.

As of today (27th August 2007), the movie's total world-wide gross is 896 million US$ in just 47 days. Order of the Phoenix's US domestic gross is 283 Million, UK gross is 91 Million and Indian gross is 5 Million USD.It has broken the world-wide records of Spider-Man 3 and Goblet of Fire too. It should be noticed that GOF's worldwide gross was 892 Million within long 140 days. Whereas OOTP has crossed this figure in just 44 days. Hopefully, OOTP will also cross the 1 Billion figure if it runs for 140 days.

2007-07-24 11:46:00 If you ask people what they thought of this movie, they would probably reply in the positive. Listen to me, this is a very average movie. Four/fifths of it is school politics which is oh so dull and the last fifth is pretty much the same as all the others. It certainly doesn't have the magic and charm of the earlier books, and is nowhere as good as the last movie in the series, which in my opinion was the best. The acting is mostly terrible apart from Ron, Harry and Hermione. In particular the Weasley Twins and Seamus are beyond terrible. Direction was also pretty average. This is a JM THUMBS DOWN.

2007-07-21 08:11:00 I see that both Sandhya and Nike have already reviewed the movie but I havent read them yet because I don't want my review to be coloured by theirs.First thing I liked about the movie was the very first scene. The arrivals of the dementors was really heart-beat-stopping scary. I guess that might be mainly because myself and my friends were complaining at that time about how they had twisted the timeline of that particular scene and changed it to look like some tornado was coming after them. The dementors looked deadlier and meaner than the ones in POA. First round in favor of the movie.After that everything went wrong. The Figgs episode , the owls and howlers arriving et cetera were ignored. And Daniel Radcliffe just CANT act! Pathetic and very very disappointing! The entire book was about how harry matured emotionally and Dan looked clueless most of the time with a round-the-clock blank disgruntled look. ^%^&*. Anyways Dumbledore without his half-moon glasses looked bad. Lupin loo...

Review: "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" (NO SPOILERS)
2007-07-20 12:29:00 Even in Asia, I managed to watch OOTP in English, yay! For me, the Harry Potter movies have never managed to bring the magic of the books onto the big screen and OOTP was no different. In terms of the plot, as usual, a ton of detail was cut out as more than seven hundred pages was squeezed into about two hours of screen time. Many things were changed to simplify the plot in order to shorten the movie. It wasn't cut down to the point of GOF where the movie did not have a complete plot and was more of a bunch of scenes from the movie stuck together as a companion for fans of the book. At the same time, however, there was so much cut out of OOTP that the magic of Hogwarts: the students, everyday life, Harry's interaction with his friends, etc. The main plot of the Harry Potter books is of course Harry vs Voldemort, but what makes fans everywhere get sucked in is how we can relate to Harry and through him, "live" at Hogwarts and do magic. In the movie, I just couldn't feel that...
