2009-01-20 23:57:00 After everything was over and it was time to go home or go to the parade or to go get ready for one of the Inaugural balls, one of the African American guys standing near me when Barack took the Oath of Office, a guy about my age, proclaimed out loud to anyone within listening distance, "Thanks, ya'll. This was a day that changed my life and even though I don't know ya'll, I shared it with you. I'll remember y'all forever."As we walked away back to our individual lives I watched as people took photos with people they didn't know. We hugged people we had met just hours before and shared tears like they we were saying goodbye to family members.This morning's inauguration was an emotional affair and I am exhausted.More pictures to come.

I haven't been ignoring you, I'm doing the best that I can. Now, why am I over whelmed? I'm overwhelmed in a good way and a bad way. First The Good It has been an awesome past 7-10 days (I can't remember) around this little blog. We broke into the Top 18,000 on Technorati with an authority of 250 with 550 blog reactions. We broke 100 subscribers! (For some reason I can't make that stupid widget show up on here.) We were honored to be listed on Enkay's Top 50 100 Female Bloggers List. By the way, we came in at #22! What?!?! (This is a cute project but, honestly, there are a number of big bloggers not on the list.) We won $100 in the Top Secret Blogger writing contest. I owe this entirely to you guys. 2007-06-20 16:15:00 To go along with Dave's last Post, at the Gotham Baseball Forum, Not4Nuttin (screen name) writes about Carlos Gomez and how he has a tendency of getting overwhelmed to a new level of ball:Gomez seems to have a history of being overwhelmed when he first jumpt to a new level (this year at AAA being the exception). Last year, he started extremely slowly at AA last year, hovered at or below the mendoza line, then turned it on for the last few months of the season, batting over .300 if I recall. Same pattern had happened the prior year, if I recall correctly. The most noticeable difference in Gomez over the past few weeks is that he has cut down on what was a Dave Kingman looking, all-or-nothing type of swing. He can still make it more compact, but seems much more controlled now and slightly more comfortable at the plate.
