2008-03-28 16:19:00 Just got back from the PADI Members Forum Koh Samui 2008Held at the Centara Beach Resort at Chaweng, presented by the Regional Manager for Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar; Hans Ullrich.Koh Samui's was one of the last ones in line for Thailand but nonetheless, it was an interesting one.Hans showed videos from some winners of last year's 'Go Pro Challenge' with the announcement that the Challenge has been extended to this year, 2008 and that the winner receives a 10.000,-USD price in cash!We than went on for a questions/answer quiz which had some trick questions in it and gave some good attention to the E-Learning program that PADI has in place.Last but not least we looked into some Risk Management scenarios which had a Rescue scenario in it. 2007-12-13 05:08:00 The December PADI IE has been successfully completed!Will, Sophia, Rob and Joakim have one thing in common today, they're no longer PADI Divemasters but as of today, they're PADI Instructors! Congrats! This morning they completed the last part of the PADI IE, their Confined Water presentation and their skill circuit. Later on today we will take the ferry back over to Samui and have a nice party and buffet at Aux Amis and than move on to Chaweng to celebrate their new status. 2007-12-11 08:58:00 The December IDC finished and the PADI IE has started today on Koh Tao.All four IDC candidates, Will, Sophia, Rob and Joakim have successfully completed their IDC course and Paul and Miro both succeeded in their IDCS courses.Here are Joakim and Will after their Open Water dive of the OWSI program. 2007-10-28 11:44:00 This edition of the PADI IE has been succesfully completed by all my candidates.Well done and congratulations to all of you for passing the PADI IE. During the IDC we had some pretty bad weather (see my Samui weather blog) but this IE was completed today under a blue sky, which made for a very well spirited day!The official PADI examiner on this occasion was Rob Scammell, who had to deal with 7 candidates. The IE started 26th October with an Orientation and the 5 Theory exams and a General Standards Exam. All my five candidates passed with good scores. The morning of the 27th started out in the classroom, where again, all my five candidates passed with high scores. PADI IE September 2007 started
2007-09-18 10:37:00 The September PADI IE on Koh Tao started today.With a good 30 candidates, including Nienke and Jeff and 3 PADI Examiners, Thomas, George and Young Hee the IE kicked off at 1 pm with an introduction by the examiners, followed by the 5 exams and a General Standards and Procedures exam.The official PADI IE banner with Examiner Young Hee Hanis sitting below it. Young Hee is Korean but speaks also English and German and she's PADI Asia Pacific's Korean liaison. The Korean market is actually growing rapidly right now and it's very exciting to see it develop. This is how a PADI IE with over 30 nervous and excited candidates looks like moments before the IE Orientation kicks off.Nienke and Jeff after (very) successfully completing their exams part of the IE, together with Amit, who came over together with us for moral support.
