2010-05-22 15:39:00 These amazing pictures of Shirdi Sai Baba, are of Huge Canvas hand paintings of Sai Baba of Shirdi. Size of the paintings are 5 ft X 8 ft and 4ft X 6ft. There was one painting of Sai Baba painted on when Baba was in physical body. Sai Baba hugged that painting and said, ?This will live?. The painting was painted by Shri Shyamrao Jayakar. Devotees take darshan of that painting and bow in reverence in Dwarkamai since years. Mukh Darshan is the place of devotion, from where devotees can take Darshan of Sai Baba?s idol in Samadhi Mandir, Shirdi. Emek - Poster Art, Paintings, and Screen Prints
2009-09-20 23:31:00 Emek is a working genius artist who produces original works of art for some of history's most notorious musicians by the likes of Blues legend B.B. King, Beastie Boys, Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Erykah Badu, Grateful Dead, Audioslave, and many more! I consider him a legend in my eyes as he tackles important themes dealing with all different aspects of life today; all of his work has some sort of conceptual spin which makes the viewer question the future, present, & past. He works in multiple mediums of drawing, painting, silk screening, sculpture, etching, and lets his imagination guide each free-lance piece with complete artistic control. Visit his page for hundreds of original content, all amazing and unique in...
Painters Painting and Paintings by Megan Euker at Linda Warren
2009-09-11 17:18:00 by Jeriah HildwineLinda Warren is one of my favorite gallerists in Chicago, and I'm always excited when she has a new show opening. The current show, Painters Painting (with Paintings by Megan Euker in the project space) was particularly tantalizing; I am a painter in my own studio practice, and reserve the right to a certain bias in favor of my chosen medium. When I stopped by this afternoon for a sneak preview, I was not disappointed....
William Staples: New Paintings at 65 Grand
2009-09-11 17:07:00 by Jeriah HildwineI'll be the first to admit that my relationship with William Staples' New Paintings was not one of love at first sight. On first glance they appear either faux-naieve or obstinately modernist: flat paint, bright colors, simple forms, and compositions that seem geometrically-arranged but rough-edged; a sort of Basquiat-cum-Mondrian, or Hans Hoffman meets Matisse. Not generally speaking my cup of tea, respectable in its historical context but not bearing repeating....

Mystical Pointillist Paintings of Renée Tay
2009-01-21 08:02:00 All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness. - Eckhart TolleThe measure of the artist is to have the eye to see the spirit underlying the particulars, and the skill to capture both in paint. - Marney WardThe relation between spirituality, creativity and expression of art is undeniable. They are so intermingled that in many ancient societies with conscious regard for sacredness, there were no separate name for artist or art. Everyone was artist and every action was an action of sacred creativity. And it should not be surprising as John O?Donohue reminds us, "The heart of human identity is the capacity and desire for birthing. To be is to become creative and bring forth the beautiful."Spirituality and Creative ArtIn one sense, spirituality is the sacred ground to be aware of the relationship to mystery. Human quest for meaning leads to a longing for something that is beyond the limits of our capacity to fully describe in langua...

Paintings for Playa del Carmen's Pets
2008-11-25 16:32:00 Last night was the innaugural evening for this year's Paintings for Pets fundraiser hoste-d by Tony and Cheri Head of the famed Luna Blue Hotel in Playa del Carmen. Well loved, award winning artist Barry Launius generously offered to show and sell many of his beautiful Caribbean themed acrylic and watercolor paintings and to donate 50% of the proceeds to Playa del Carmen's beloved Peanut Pet Shelter. Barry and his lovely wife Phyllis were in attendance to meet and greet and, of course, Andy, Jen and Adam were on hand to welcome guests and talk about the needs of their amazing no-kill shelter. The Luna Blue Tiki Bar did a brisk business while Tony served up his now famous cheeseburgers in paradise to a hungry crowd. Rob and I brought our good friends Mike (WWMD) and Sue from Chicago to check out the artwork and enjoy a few pomegranite margaritas! Rob with Mike and Sue, swingin' at The Tiki Bar!The artist, Barry (Caribbean Colors) with Lib...

Paintings from Jodhpur
2008-10-13 14:17:00 The WaPost has an article on the new exhibit at the Sackler called Garden and Cosmos: The Royal Paintings of Jodhpur."The exhibition's tone is set by "Sage Markendeya's Ashram and the Milky Ocean," the first picture you see. It was painted, in opaque watercolor and gold, in the 1780s. Vishnu, the great god, is sleeping on a silver sea. His bed looks like one of those inflatable plastic mattresses that float in suburban swimming pools, except it's made of snakes. Welcome to Rajput painting. You're not in Kansas anymore," says critic Paul Richard.
