Anxiety and Panic Disorder Information
2007-10-28 09:20:00 From its inception until October 24, 2007, BFE was a blog concerning my progress in recovering from Anxiety/Panic Disorder. I believe that the creative process is vital to getting better and so it quickly became a combination A/P and photo blog. However, when it became clear to me that writing about my symptomatology on a day-to-day basis could be hindering my recovery, I decided to strip all articles of their photographs and simply restrict future entries to photographs and the discussion of the creative process itself.Otherwise the archives remain intact. I couldn't bring myself to delete them because there's some good information in there. If you came to the front page because you were using a search engine for information about A/P, then this entry should provide something of a road map to the archives. And, of course, the blog's search function should help out, as well. This is basically a copy of what was once on the sidebar:My StoryFavorite Entries:Part I -- Anxiet...

Panic Disorder Recovery in Review
2007-10-25 00:16:00 I don't know why I like photographs of clouds so much. They're easy to shoot. I guess it does take a little skill in photoshop to bring out the best in them, but it's not challenging at all. Most of my favorite photos are when I nailed a difficult composition or perhaps pulled off a difficult technical shot. But clouds, I guess, are a euphemism for life.Anyway, so far today has been a pretty good day. It's been a little on the weird side, but "weird" is the new normal for me. And, truthfully, I like weird as long as it's not "bad" weird. Today was possibly "good" weird and maybe just plain weird, but certainly not bad weird.Anxiety was in check all day until only a few moments ago. I was starving to death by the time I got in this afternoon. These days I've been trying to be more sensible and take more breaks for lunch, but I was busy and the opportunity never came up. A friend of mine thinks that my afternoon anxiety spells are because I eat an insignificant breakfa...

Stanford Studies Moms and Daughters with Panic Disorder
2007-05-18 03:33:00 Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking 200 moms and daughters to study panic disorder and its effects:The purpose of this project is to evaluate vulnerabilities of adolescent daughters of women with panic disorder to identify factors that make risk for future anxiety problems more likely. In particular, we are testing whether at-risk daughters attend more to threat in the environment than do daughters of mothers with no history of anxiety or mood disorders. We are also interested in understanding how mothers with panic can help minimize anxiety developing in their daughters.
