Bred for companionship, this dog loves hanging out with his human and can make an excellent family pet if placed in the right conditions.The Papillon is one of the oldest toy dog breeds, dating back to the 14th century. Once known as the Toy Spaniel, it is today sometimes called the Continental Toy Spaniel. “Papillon” is French for butterfly, and with its erect large ears and unique facial coloring, it is not hard to see the resemblance. Phalenes (pronounced fa-len) are Papillons with drop style ears; their name is French for night moth. The drop-ear was the original in the Papillon, but gradually the erect ears became more fashionable. Papillons were a court favorite among Europe’s aristocracy. That reminded me of this video "Papillon D'Amour" by Nicolas Provost which I had seen some months ago."By subjecting fragments from the Akira Kurosawa's film Rashomon to a mirror effect, Provost creates a hallucinatory scene of a woman's reverse chrysalis into an imploding butterfly. Les papillons aiment le basilic: balade au jardin botanique
2007-07-16 10:20:00 Juste quelques clichs d'une balade au vert romain. Dans le quartier du Trastevere, on peut en effet se promener dans le jardin de botanique de Rome, l'orto botanico. L'entre cote plutt cher (4 euros) mais il est vraiment plaisant d'y trouver un peu de fracheur et de calme. Le jardin des plantes aromatiques m'a beaucoup intress, quoiqu'en plein soleil, il tait difficile d'y flner autant que je l'aurais souhait. Mais j'ai pu observer que les plants de basilic taient ceux qui attiraient le plus les papillons... Je n'en tire aucune conclusion horticole mais comme je suis toujours attire moi aussi par le basilic, sous toutes ses formes, j'ai pens que je devais bien partager quelque chose avec ces petits papillons!
