Global Warming Today: Climate Models Are Fault, Part 3,496
2008-05-13 14:08:00 Climahysterics have been relying on computer models for decades to prove that Man is killing us all with warming, much like they rely on the cute drawings with no factual proof to prove that the theory of Evolution is real. How’s that working out? Computer analyses of global climate have consistently overstated warming in Antarctica, concludes new research ...

Sports, Religion & The Catskills: Part 3

Arguing with The Arab - Part 3
2008-05-13 04:00:00 by Akiva at Mystical PathsYet more "dialog", or is that diatribe, from a Muslim commentor at YouTube...Muslim: i have never claimed the arabs to not commit terrorist acts. all sides do. The sad fact is that you jews are just as bad as those you call terrorists since you also ignore the ethical limits of violence and clearly dont fear god enough to give a shit when you have ignored the option of taking the higher moral ground and only taking an eye for an eye. Instead you openly dissobey your own religion by announcing you will kill 10 arabs for every israeli.(quoting your prime minister" . Assuming you have the right to kill those who attack you...what about the other 7 in the 8:1 ratio?. Does judaism prescribe the death penalty for vocal support of those who target buses???....it is indeed a crime against god to support the targeting of anyone but the perpatrator of a crime. It may even be moraly wrong to voice support for a bus bomber but is this a death penalty in Judaism?. I thi...

The Future of the Church (Part 3 of 3)
2008-05-11 04:23:00 In Part 1 and Part 2 of this short series on the Future of the Church, I wrote about how the church needs to escape the attractional, church-growth model of the church, and become more missional. Doing so will enable us to prepare for the world-wide reawakening of the church that is coming. In this post, I ...
Vacation (part 3)
2008-05-10 23:43:00 For the last part of our vacation we decided to head home up 101 instead of I-5. Alicia and I wanted to take the girls to the Beach and also stop by Solvang (a cute little Dutch town). Since my parents grew up in Southern California they knew of a lot of beaches in the area that were nice. We ended up stopping in Santa Barbara for a few minutes to take some pictures on the beach. When we got there Emily was sound asleep and she wasn't feeling very good so being the good mom that I am I let her sleep and skipped out on taking pictures of her at the beach. We did get some cute ones of Anna though. We also stopped by Solvang to do a little window shopping and to eat lunch. As a kid our family stopped here a lot on our way home from southern California. It is a town that my parents visited a lot while dating and where they got engaged too. It was fun to walk around it gave Emily a chance to get out of the car seat for a bit. The ride home was a little rough. Emily got a cough an...

You Can Hack An OS But You Can't Hack People - part 3: More Maps
2008-05-10 23:22:00 Since Apple's story is the shortest, we'll tell it out of order. Now, the three computing republics, Unix, Apple, and Windows, had different approaches to autonomy. In Unix, they teetered cheerfully on the edge of anarchy. There was only very little attempt to reign in the free spirits there. In Windows, no stepping out of line was tolerated, but it was necessary to maintain perfect order and the people there loved it. In Apple, however, there was a balance: things were "officially" controlled, but since it was so expensive to live there, the government of Apple chose wisely to occasionally look the other way if the people wanted to go off and do their own thing. After all, giving people what they wanted was what they had in mind. So eventually, Apple's government formed something of a partnership with the citizens. They could have a sort of controlled pseudo-freedom. They could have a free version of their operating system, and could also choose many different ways to experien...
Thanks, but No Thanks, Part 3
2008-05-10 08:28:00 And the hits just keep on comin'...If there was any doubt after my last post about how the current "leadership" truly feels about the men and women it sends into combat and harms way, check out the latest way in which they treat returning troops:Pentagon to alter troop cremation proceduresI'm sure those funeral homes are the lowest bid contractors. Probably subsidiaries of Halliburton, who most recently has murdered U.S. troops by electrifying their showers (story here).Well, I guess if you really dig into it, cremating a dead american soldier's remains in the same oven in which one would incinerate the family dog has its place in the annals of ironic military lore:The marines' motto Semper Fidelis comes from the Latin root "fidus" meaning faithful. It's where the legal concept of fiduciary comes from: For example, an agent has a fiduciary obligation to his client--by law it must place the client's interest above its own. That happens to be one of the basic principles of lead...

Ooh, Heaven Is a Place on Earth, Part 3
2008-05-09 10:26:00 Joanne was in Glendale last night, and Loren kept trying to drag her over to The Americana at Brand. She resisted because, in casual conversation, many people she knew kept describing The Americana in Biblical terms?you know, "the promised land" or "god's green earth" or (according to this blog) "paradise." But all those descriptions were expressed in a mocking fashion. And when something is mocked enough, it loses its cool factor. As an appropriate countermeasure, Loren began equating criticisms of The Americana with acts of anti-patriotism. "If you don't go to The Americana," he warned her, "they win."She ignored him."So, Joanne," Loren continued, " do you love The Americana...or do you love Al-Qaeda?!"We didn't go to The Americana last night. Watch the skies, California. You have been warned.

I try to be as concise as possible, but sometimes you just have to write a lot in order to defend a position, and I'm okay with that. Some of your post matches up with what I have learned my entire life in studying the Bible. Some things you have written, I hold as truth, the first of them being that,?All things pale in comparison to Jesus.?Second, I also agree with your view that people?s names hold great importance.Good to know.Thirdly, your point on keys and authority pointing back to the Davidic kingdom ("Among these was a ...
Affiliate Marketing - Part 3
2008-05-03 17:39:00 Avoiding Affiliate Marketing Mistakes While affiliate marketing is a great way to earn a living, the fact remains that many people become discouraged and drop out of the programs. In many instances, the failure to be successful with affiliate marketing is due to a few simple mistakes that new affiliates make. Here are some examples of those mistakes and why they should be avoided. Perhaps the most common misconception about affiliate marketing is that one can rake in huge amounts of revenue simply by slapping up a low-quality website with no original content and tossing in some affiliate links. While it is certainly true that you need to have a web site up and running in order to participate in an affiliate program, there is also the need to apply some effort to getting the word out about your site. Otherwise, the chances of people visiting your web site and clicking on one of the links are pretty slim. Promoting yourself and your web site is a big part of ensuring the creation of a...

So where do public speakers find their public? (Part 3)
2008-04-28 07:02:00 Who books speakers? In my last two posts, I mentioned how Sarah Rourke could use public speaking to promote her podcasting company, not only by addressing business clubs but also by giving a more general presentation about her radio production career to a wider range of organisations.I am now going to list some of the types of groups I speak to on a regular basis (I have a feeling that this will be one of those posts where I keep thinking of further information to add afterwards so it might be worthwhile to revisit it from time to time!) Please note that although I have given links to the national websites of many of these organisations so that you can find out more about them, you should contact individual local branches if you want to be considered as a speaker, not their national HQs.Probus: I have given more talks for Probus than any other organisation. These clubs hold monthly meetings for retired professional and business people (hence the name Pro-bus). There are thousands of ...
Maastricht part 3
2008-04-26 10:45:00 Today part three which will be the last part with some selected pics from our trip last year to Maastricht. There will be a little bit of backgroundinformation, but some pics are just showing some atmospheric impressions. This is inside the Church of Our Lady (Onze Lieve Vrouwe Kerk sorry only Dutch), one of the oldest churches of Maastricht. The current church dates back to the 11th century and the foundations of the western part have been dated back to the year 1000 A.D. It is said that there was a preceding church which dates back to 500 A.D. The church early constructions are Romanesque and the later constructions Gothic. Since 1933 the church is a so called minor basilica. While we were inside there was a rehearsal going on from a music ensemble who were playing medieval music. The acoustics of the church was amazing and the music sounded gorgeous.Part of the citywalls of Maastricht.

Having bought a new hammer, everything seems to look like nails, but are there any concerns that you should have when using extension methods, and what would be best practice for use? It is tempting to take all your utility and helper wrappers and convert them to extension methods, as it increases discoverability of the method to the developer, and makes the syntax more consistent than calling a static method on a wrapper. Compare these two: IntUtility.IsEven(even); even.IsEven(); But I would be worried about type pollution if extensions to the for instance the string method is a free for all, in that you might end up with an extension method hell, from all the various methods your developers have glued onto the type. The following...

Vic and the Build a niche store Scam Part 3! Choose and buy your Niche Doma
2008-04-24 01:54:00 Here is a little secret: .com’s only matter to major business sites, and big time blogs. The key to successful Niche building, is BULK SITES. The more the better. If you have the money - by all means go and buy up 100 .com websites for $800. If you’re poor like the rest of us - or a bit frugal - you might want to try .info names instead. Godaddy.com is running a special right now where you can actually buy .info domains for $.99! No, that is not a typo. You could buy 100 domains for $100. GoDaddy.com 120×60 ” /> I recommend going and buying at least 10 domains right now. Of course before you buy your domains you should definitely research some profitable niches, I highly recommend using webceo to do this. My suggestion for creating and choosing the domains is to research your chosen niche, find the 3 keywords that appear the most, 4 keywords max, and choose a domain like: keyword1-keyword2-keyword3.info- - I’m not a super expert at this though, I’m...
