D. Wade shutting it down for the season
2008-03-10 22:37:00 Dwyane Wade?s season with the Miami Heat is over. Heat coach Pat Riley announced Monday that Wade, the All-Star guard and 2006 NBA finals MVP who has battled left knee pain throughout the season, will not play in Miami?s final 21 games this year. ?I think it?s time,? Riley said. The move was expected, although the timing?with so ...
Pat Riley Begins Scouting Tour
2008-03-10 05:24:00 AP - Pat Riley?s search to bring young help to the Heat is officially underway, according to an Associated Press report. Riley was in State College, Pa., on Sunday, watching Indiana freshman guard Eric Gordon play against Penn State. Gordon scored 26 points, but the 18th-ranked Hoosiers lost to the Nittany Lions, 68-64 in overtime. Riley is ...

Pat Riley Throwing in the Towel?
2007-12-26 20:26:00 Though several of Heat coach Pat Riley’s personnel moves have backfired, he suggests he can’t do much more from a coaching standpoint. ”I’ve taught more than I’ve ever taught a team — film, on the court,” he said recently, sounding exasperated. But unless he makes trades — and the Heat has been exploring that — ...

Toine Was Sick of Riles
2007-12-18 17:16:00 ”It was better for me to leave,” Walker said before Monday’s game. “Riles kept my name in the papers for something negative, and it was a back-and-forth thing over body-fat. I was getting tired of that.” (Miami Herald)Share This

How Pat Riley Damaged Varejao?s Cavs Contract Negotiations
2007-12-10 19:50:00 OK — first, let me say this is a totally unsubstantiated conspiracy theory and that it has very little basis in fact. But considering how smart Riley is, and his predisposition to Machiavellian behavior, it seems likely that he would interfere in a conference rival’s free-agent negotiations if he thought it would help his team. Here’s how ...

Pat Riley to Antoine: Stop Eating Already!
2007-10-11 19:37:00 The Miami Heat dropped their second preseason game last night from the AAA 106-100 in overtime. The wins and losses are not that important in the preseason but the fact many veterans are still aching and out of shape is a concern, mainly to Pat Riley. Shaq managed to get back on the ...

Don?t Worry Shaq, Pat Riley Has Your Back
2007-05-10 14:46:00 Ever since Sam Smith, writer for the Chicago Tribune, opened up his big mouth and decided to start his own 24/7 rumor machine, rumors have been running rampant across the internet about Shaquille O’Neal possibly being traded in the offseason. It’s no secret that Shaq holds a massive amount of salary on the ...

I find myself wondering whether Pat Riley wants to...
2007-04-21 23:45:00 I find myself wondering whether Pat Riley wants to win basketball games. Things looked bleak for Miami when Shaq went to the bench with his fifth foul at the 8:35 mark of the 4th quarter. They certainly did not look like they were going to get a whole lot better when D Wade joined him after he was called for his fifth with 8:26 to play. One would have thought that things were going to fall apart for the Heat at that point. Unfortunately for Scott Skiles and the Bulls, their road to victory was made considerably more difficult by one man. It was Antoine Walker, and the Bulls had no answer for him, as he led the Heat back to within two points with 5:17 to go in the game. Thankfully for Bulls fans, Pat Riley decided that it was time to bring Shaq and D Wade in off the bench at that point. Here is the full game play-by-play, in case you're interested.I realize that Wade and Shaq absolutely must be on the floor at crunch time. I was looking forward to their return. I just don't think A...
Pat Riley: The Man, The Myth, The Barbara Streisand Fan
2007-03-13 14:28:00 Pat Riley has widely been regarded as one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time; being the head coach of five championship teams, an assistant coach to another, and playing for one, bringing his total to seven championships overall. He most recently won the 2006 NBA Championship with the Miami Heat. Riley has ...

PAT RILEY BACK ON HEAT BENCH TONIGHT!
Pat Riley, ...
2007-02-22 00:39:00 PAT RILEY BACK ON HEAT BENCH TONIGHT!Pat Riley, Head Coach of the Miami Heat, will return to the bench tonight against the Rockets at 9 pm Eastern time on ESPN. I think this is the step that will result in a great second half of the season for the Heat. The fill in for Riley, Ron Rothstein, did a great job. Even though The Heat went up and down during the season without Shaq, he gave his all. The players should thank him for his effort and be grateful for all his help.NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE HEAT TO SIZZLE!
Miami Heat Buzz - Pat Riley Trying to Make Moves
2007-01-30 22:32:01 Could Posey and J-Dub be out the door? The Heat are cold right now. Fitting the weather has changed in the last few days for the arrival of the Heat back in South Florida. Pat Riley is at home relaxing in his lazy boy, while Mrs Riley serves him ice cold beverages. What might Riley be thinking while his Heat are struggling and starting to fall apart at the seams. Questionable comments have been coming out of the Heat locker room. Udonis even went as far as saying he wanted to be taken out of the fourth quarter of the loss to the Chicago Bulls, because of the lack of ball movement. No one Heatian has come out and pointed fingers, but there is something brewing, and it could hit the fan shortly. We are in need of a few pieces. We might be deeper then last year as all the experts have been saying, but our front line can barely stay healthy. When Jason Kapono is the only person besides D-Wade stepping up, your chances of defending the title do not look good. The Heat are very...
