Penny Arcade: Linux Screenshots
2008-05-29 08:44:00 Hothead Games together with Penny Arcade released a very interesting game called Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. It can be purchased at $20 in Greenhouse Internet store, which is a counterpart of more known Steam Games. Nothing peculiar, you say? And youd be right if not for one small detail: the game is available also for GNU/Linux. PolishLinux has a short review with screenshots.

Penny Arcade Interview
2008-04-21 06:40:00 Ars Technica has an interview with Hothead Games CEO, on their upcoming release of the Penny Arcade game for Linux.
Penny Arcade gets examining witnesses right.
2008-03-12 20:33:00 Brief Prelude: I'm going to be attending the Penny Arcade Expo 2008 in Seattle, if any readers are going to be there. Let me know and we'll have frosty malted beverages of the beer-like persuasion. Also, anyone going to the ABA IP Law Division Spring Conference in DC next month, I'll be there to meet with the Special Committee on Computer Gaming and Virtual Worlds. Since it's in Arlington, VA (Crystal City), I'll definitely be boozing it up somewhere in Alexandria that weekend.Ok, so onwards to the main post, which is really just today's Penny Arcade comic, but I can tell that when I do my next oral argument practice in rhetoric (the ones where we get made up topics), I'm going to definitely use one of the lines.

Joystiq interview: Penny Arcade Adventures - SendMeRSS
2008-03-03 18:36:00 Joystiq interview: Penny Arcade AdventuresFiled under: PC, Microsoft Xbox 360, Adventure, RPGs, Interviews, GDC It's fair to say that quite a lot is expected from Vancouver-based developer, Hothead Games. The group not only has to deliver a series of downloadable and episodic adventure RPGs in regular intervals, but also appease a fanbase so large and rabid that it can click your website to death -- accidentally, if you're lucky. On top of all that, the poor developers are occasionally dragged into a tiny room for the sole purpose of being poked by a plethora of questions regarding their upcoming games.Penny Arcade Adventures producer, Joel DeYoung, and Hothead creative director, Ron Gilbert, had to endure just such a prodding during GDC, the results of which can be viewed after the break. Appropriately enough, our interview's almost as long as the title of the first episode: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.Gallery: Penny Arcade AdventuresContinue reading Joystiq intervi...

2008-03-03 18:36:00 Penny Arcade Expo 2008 to showcase indie gamesFiled under: Culture, PC, BusinessThe annual Penny Arcade Expo has quickly evolved from being simply a gathering of video game enthusiasts to becoming one of our most anticipated gaming conferences each year. We never know what we're going to see there first hand, from fresh rhymes to Metroid attacks, and this year's event, taking place from August 29-31, looks to up the ante with a showcase of independent games called PAX 10.Event organizers are currently seeking indie talent to show off during the event, and devs can submit their creations online for consideration from now until May 7, after which a panel of 50 "industry experts," including PA's own Gabe and Tycho, will decide which ten submissions represent the crème of the crop based on gameplay and that all important "fun factor." The home-grown games will each be shown as part of the event's PAX 10 exhibit, and attendees will be able to vote on which one tickles their fa...

Early Registration Opens For Penny Arcade Expo 2008 - SendMeRSS
2008-01-31 00:04:00 Early Registration Opens For Penny Arcade Expo 2008 Early registration for the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) has just been opened to the public, despite the fact that the event won't actually occur until the weekend of Aug. 29th. For those of you who absolutely must lock your plans down now, though, the PAX registration page will currently allow you to purchase a 3-day pass for the festivities for the discounted rate of $40. The Expo was founded in 2004 by Penny Arcade creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik as a reaction to the bloated, overly corporate industry events such as the original E3. By focusing on gamers and having fun (gasp!) PAX has grown by leaps and bounds, and is quickly approaching the moment when it becomes THE event of the year in the eyes of developers, journalists and gamers. Portal is Penny Arcade's top pick for 2007 - SendMeRSS
2007-12-31 01:59:00 Portal is Penny Arcade's top pick for 2007Filed under: NewsThe (143rd) Annual We're Right Awards at Penny Arcade have been revealed for 2007, and Portal has swept them all this year. Landing "Best Soundtrack," "Best Writing," and "Best New Game Mechanic," it looks like Gabe and Tycho like Portal (they really, really like it!). Honestly, we think it's a pretty good pick ourselves, as we were in love with it for the half a dozen or so hours it took to complete. What's remarkable here is not that Portal "won," but that it was the only game mentioned at all. Definitely big praise from one of the internet's largest gaming sites. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're working on our own awards for 2007. Penny Arcade about Apple iPhone
2007-07-04 18:04:00 I’m an avid reader of Penny Arcade. If you haven’t ever read it, you might consider stopping by and having a read. Though if you don’t care for a a comic about a couple of foul-mouthed guys talking about tech and games, then it might not be for you. The iPhone was big enough that it merited not one, but two separate comics on the subject. The first one came out on launch day, and depicted what many of us felt like doing, and it would have worked, had we only gotten the idea to join the ranks of Apple a year ago. The second came out on Monday that very much captured the woes over the lack of 3G in the phone with the toils of being in line for a long period of time. Thanks to Penny Arcade
