I carabinieri del Comando provinciale guidati dal generale Gianfranco Siazzu hanno arrestato a Palermo il ricercato Enrico Scalavi no, 36 anni, esponente di spicco della famiglia mafiosa di "Corso Calatafimi". Scalavi no, fermato nella notte dopo un inseguimento, era soprannominato "il re del pizzo" e compariva nell'elenco dei 100 latitanti più pericolosi. È accusato di associazione mafiosa, narcotraffico e di avere imposto il pagamento del pizzo a commercianti e imprenditori in una vasta zona della città. Il suo ruolo, in buona sostanza, era di gestore ed esattore delle estorsioni. Di lui hanno parlato diversi pentiti che lo hanno anche indicato come attivo sul fronte del traffico di stupefacenti.
