The worst case scenario was to see this CPU in late Q2 and June is pretty much the last chance to meet this timeframe.Kuma is still 65nm, it has 2MB of L3 cache and 2x512KB of L2 cache and it does support HT3. The new dual core CPU fits in existing eco-systems as it uses socket AM2+ and we've also learned that there won't be any high clocks close to 3GHz for Kuma parts.AMD will position this CPU as an energy efficient CPU but we still don’t know what should happen then."

After such a long respite from the beloved film progression, I was initially just as skittish about seeing Harrison Ford back in the Indy saddle as I was watching Sylvester Stallone back in the ring in ?Rocky Balboa? in his 2006 comeback and then again in 2008 in his ?Rambo? return. Ultimately, though, I had faith in director Steven Spielberg not to royally torpedo the monolithically anticipated ?Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,? which resurrects the Chicago-born, 65-year-old Harrison Ford as one of my favorite film characters of all time. Spielberg delivers. Thank the heavens. In grappling with Ford?s real-life age, David Koepp?s screenplay comically writes in subtle jabs to wrangle with the reality. After Phenom 9950 comes Deneb, a new 45nm quad-core that we saw in action at CeBIT. Unlike previously believed, the new Phenom 9950 won't work at 2.6GHz than on rather interesting 2.66GHZ clock.This speed might suggest that the CPU might run at 10x266FSB, but this is something that we will have to confirm.Phenom 9950 was scheduled for a late May launch and it’s most likely to show its face before Computex 08 that starts on June 3rd , or at least at this event. It arrived really late on the market, yet more importantly it had a vicious bug which we now all know as the TBL erratum. These two facts really damaged any marketing spin that AMD could give a perfectly interesting micro-architecture, as by patching out that bug, they where loosing performance greatly, yet was needed for stability. As was suggested by those other reviews, however, the AMD falls behind the (admittedly pricier) Intel processor in just about every respect, including its ability to be overclocked. On the upside, however, that lower cost will likely offset the performance issues for many users, and it does still boast "moderate overclockability" and run cooler than the Intel chip. As we have chronicled closely, the chips were late to market and debuted with unexpectedly low clock frequencies. As a result, their performance was underwhelming compared to Intel's Core 2 offerings. Worse yet, shortly before its release, AMD discovered a bug in the Phenom that could cause a system hang in certain, very specific circumstances. This so called "TLB erratum" caused AMD to cease shipments of the Phenom's server-oriented counterpart, the Opteron 2300 series, but the firm went ahead with its plans to sell Phenoms in consumer PCs. You probably remember AMD's Sempron EE and Athlon BE series of energy efficient CPUs; in fact, the Athlon BE is still the most energy efficient dual-core desktop CPU on the market.The new 9100e gets an 'e' suffix instead, and it's rated at 65W, unlike the plain Phenoms which suck up to 95W or 125W in higher clocked models. This is a B2 stepping part, it's clocked 1.8GHz, while the voltage is 1.10~1.15v. It's nice to see AMD is targeting this market segment, if only we could figure out which market segment this is supposed to be.Energy efficient server parts make sense, and both Intel and AMD have quad-core server parts rated well below 65W. The chip manufacturer introduces five Phenom X4 9000 series Quad-Core processors and two Phenom X3 8000 series Triple-Core processors. The fastest quad-core introduced today is the Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition. It comes with Clock Multiplier Control (an unlocked multiplier, compare the FX series), and is aimed at gamers and users of multi-threading applications. Another special is the Phenom X4 9100e, an energy efficient quad-core processor with a TDP of 65 Watt, aimed at digital media enthusiasts. AMD calls this CPU a cool and quiet digital media workhorse. The new triple-core processors are partly disfunctional quad-core parts that should otherwise have been sold as dual-core products. Paired with the 780 series chipset, these CPUs are positioned to be part of multi-media desktops. The 780G chipset adds DirectX 10 functionality.
