2008-05-23 00:07:00 One year after the jury deadlocked and caused a mistrial with a 10-2 vote in favor of a guilty finding on Phil Spector, the famed producer will once again stand trial for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.Los Angeles judge Larry Fidler set September 29 as the start of a new trial which, if it is like the first, will most likely last into early 2009. The delay in the retrial was necessitated when the majority of Spector's defense team quit after the first trial ended. The new defense team is looking to have Fidler removed from the case as they see him as biased against Spector.Lana Clarkson was shot and killed at Spector's mansion on February 3, 2003. Spector claimed that the actress committed suicide but the prosecution built a case around how the producer was known to use guns in threatening women and that he told an employee that he had shot Clarkson shortly after a gunshot was heard.
