The NFL Coaching Cull (Jack Del Rio, Todd Haley, Tony Sparano) Has Only Jus
2011-12-15 12:43:00 It?s that time of year when heads start to roll; Those heads belong to National Football League Head Coaches. The phrase ‘The Coaching Carousel’ will soon be in full effect within various media outlets, I promise not to use it. As it stands with three regular season games remaining, three NFL Head Coaches have lost their (Read More...)
In The Red Zone: New England Patriots at Philadelphia Eagles Preview - Week
2011-11-25 12:00:00 This Week The New England Patriots visit the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia PA on Sunday at 4:15 p.m. The Patriots (7-3) are 3-2 on the road, 1-1 against the NFC East and 1-1 vs. the NFC. The Eagles (4-6) are 1-4 at the Linc, 0-1 vs. the AFC East and 0-1 against the AFC. The Line/Prediction As of Thursday the line on the game from Yahoo! Sports has the Patriots at MINUS 3 1/2. They list the over under at 50 1/2. My Prediction is Patriots 31, Eagles, 21. Give the points (Patriots) and take the over. I am 6-3-1 against the spread and 6 of 10 on calling the over/under in 2011. Tickets The Eagles are reporting the game as a sell out. Tickets to the game, if available, can be purchased through Ticketmaster. You can check the availability here. Getting to the Game If you?re lucky enough to be going to the game in Philadelphia make sure you check out the links. Here is the up to date weather forecast from the Weather Channel fo...

DeSean Jackson A Twitter Trend In Eagles ? Giants Game
2011-11-21 06:19:00 The Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver, and former Cal Bears Star DeSean Jackson became a Twitter Trend, even though his name was misspelled to read “Deshawn Jackson.” What started the tide of “Deshawn Jackson” tweets? First, NFL fans are an informed group, and have opinions on every player and coach. DeSean Jackson is certainly no exception. (Read More...)
NFL Week 4 Game Preview: San Francisco 49ers @ Philadelphia Eagles
2011-09-29 06:59:00 Online Betting Overview The Philadelphia Eagles are in huge trouble. Aside from being 1-2 to start the season, the Eagles are incapable of protecting quarterback Michael Vick. Philadelphia and Vick can complain about the officiating all they want. But if the offensive line takes the steps to put a stop to late hits, then those hits are less likely to happen. Many of those ?late hits? are also follow-throughs from defensive linemen making legal and clean plays. The worst hit Vick has sustained this season was from his own offensive lineman who was standing around as Vick was being thrown to the ground. The offensive line and Michael Vick are not working together and it is causing all kinds of problems. Running back LeSean McCoy doesn?t seem to be having any issues with the offensive line as he is averaging more than 100 rushing yards and a touchdown per game. Once the Eagles figure out its problems on offense, then it is time to figure out the issues on defense. The San Fra...

Chicago Bears Defeat Philadelphia Eagles: Sports Illustrated Credited With
2010-11-23 05:16:00 Chicago certainly has been known to have our fair share of superstitions... OK, let's be honest. Even Stevie Wonder has thought this city is overboard when it comes to putting faith in some form of negative mojo. From the Black Sox to the goat to Bartman to the ridiculous hexes that bad ownership (Bill Wirtz, McCaskey Family) put on teams, Chicagoans have a laundry list of supernatural excuses for every loss. But now, we're getting some help from one of the best curses out there: the Sports Illustrated Cover Jinx. Thanks to SI, the Bears have been assured a victory this weekend when Michael Vick, the latest cover boy, and the Eagles come to town. On behalf of all of...
Top Ten Philadelphia Eagles to Keep an Eye On Sunday Night
2009-11-20 12:24:00 Let's forget about the doom and gloom that surrounds the Bears and instead focus our attention on Sunday night's opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles. As always you can expect to see Andy Reid's offense throw early and often with Donovan McNabb running the show. On the other side of the ball, the Eagles defense is as relentless as ever and never hesitant to blitz at any given time. To help you get ready for Sunday night's action, here are the Top Ten Philadelphia Eagles to Keep an Eye On. ...
Philadelphia Eagles Sign Michael Vick
2009-08-14 04:57:00 In a surprise move, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed Michael Vick to a two-year contract. Vick has now gone from the (Atlanta) Falcons to the Eagles with a small 18 month stop over in the federal penitentiary in between. He will come into camp late, as the 4th quarterback on the roster behind Donovan McNabb, Kevin ...
Dear Philadelphia Flyers Fans,
2009-04-26 15:00:00 Enjoy chanting "Crosby sucks" while mowing the lawn, hitting golf balls or on your way to work on Monday since you?re not going to have the chance to do so at the Wachovia Center again during the 2009 Stanley Cup playoffs. However, you may have a good point. Perhaps Sidney Crosby does suck. I mean he only had two goals on Saturday and a total of 4 goals and 4 assists in the series. Of course, those eight points would be three more than any other Flyer (Mike Richards and Claude Giroux led the team with 5 points) in the six-game series. Actually, I?ll let Crosby, the recipient of all of the taunting, speak for himself:"We've had huge rivalries over the years. It's a loud building. They were playing well and the crowd was into to it, so to hear a little silence was gratifying."So what?s the excuse as to why the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Flyers this season? Simon Gagne, Kimmo Timonen and Braydon Coburn were injured during last year?s playoff series, but they looked health...

NFL Game Center: Game Recap - Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants - 2008
2008-12-08 09:11:00 NFL Game Center: Game Recap - Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants - 2008 14 Eagles win game, 20 to 14, but Giants get division title anyway.
Giants hang on for win in Philly
2008-11-10 06:25:00 Giants hang on for win in Philly By Dr. Bill Chachkes-Managing Partner Football Reporters Online There is no doubt in my mind that the New York Giants left everything they had on Lincoln Financial Field tonight. Could it have gone any better for Coach Tom Coughlin and the Big Blue? It could have, but they will take the 36-31 win on the road to raise their record tom 8-1. Just as the Giants fought hard tonight, so did the Eagles. After Eli Manning threw an early interception, Desean Jackson scored the opening points of the game on a direct snap and 11 yard rush to the pylon. However, New York scored the next 17 points to carry a 10 point lead into the second quarter. Most of the first half was a pitched battle between the two teams defenses. After Philly scored off another Giants turnover (a fumble by Brandon Jacobs), New York got another score to end the first half on the second of John Carney?s 3 Field Goals, bringing the half to a close at 20-17. Both teams got tougher ...
What NFL Team Does Sarah Palin Support
2008-10-01 20:20:00 I have a problem with Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and it has nothing to do with her political views.* Perhaps you saw the three second clip of Palin jogging in a Donovan McNabb Philadelphia Eagles jersey. (If not, the video is below at the 3:11 mark and a picture is on the right.) First of all, besides actual football players, who actually jogs wearing a football jersey? Wouldn?t a T-shirt or Under Armor shirt be more comfortable? Let?s assume that because Pain is wearing a McNabb jersey in the video, she has some type of affinity for the Eagles. Does she only support the Eagles? Well, when I wrote last month that Joe Biden is a Steelers fan, Captain Easychord shared a July 2007 Pittsburgh Tribune-Review article which showed that Palin is also a Steelers fan. So is she a Steelers fan, an Eagles fan, or both? This is where things get even more complex. Sarah Palin is also a member of the official Seattle Seahawks official fan club, the Seahawkers.** Super Bowl...

Soccer Mom Targeted for Carrying Gun to Game
2008-09-25 19:18:00 The following story is from Philly.com:LEBANON - A south central Pennsylvania woman's concealed-weapons permit has been revoked after other parents complained about seeing her carrying her loaded handgun at her daughter's soccer game. Meleanie Hain says she's fighting the revocation by the Lebanon County sheriff. Hain told the Lebanon Daily News she's always openly carried a firearm without any problems in the past. She received the revocation notice and a warning from local soccer officials after the Sept. 11 game. Soccer coach Charlie Jones says parents were upset by Hain carrying her gun at the game. Sheriff Michael DeLeo says openly carrying a weapon to a youth soccer match shows a lack of judgment. DeLeo says he'll restore her permit if a court decides he was wrong. Hain is probably an Eagles fan too.As a soccer referee, this freaks me out. Who is the first person players, coaches and parents get angry at during soccer games? It?s not the ice cream truck guy! Quintin Demps Inks
2008-05-31 15:25:00 The Eagles 4th round pick out of UTEP signed a 4 year deal yesterday. Quintin Demps is the first Eagle to sign his contract, and he is ready to work. With Brian Dawkins turning 35 this year, it was no secret that they had to look for a FS to groom behind Dawk. Demps had more ...
Eagles GM Tom Heckert Gets Contract Extension
2008-05-31 01:15:00 The Eagles continue to gain stability in the front office by extending their general manger’s contract until 2011. Heckert has been interviewing for other jobs the past few years, and the Birds wanted to ensure that he would not leave the nest. The Eagles also made another front office move, by promoting Howie Roseman to Vice ...
Grading The Draft: 1999
2008-05-28 23:07:00 I decided to really take a close look at how good the Eagles have been at finding talent in the NFL draft. I will go over every draft since Andy Reid has been here, and give each player a grade. Now keep in mind Andy Reid has only technically been the GM since 2002, but he ...

Birds? Add Two Linebackers
2008-05-14 20:58:00 The Eagles have signed BYU linebacker Markell Staffieri, and Cal U linebacker Gary Butler. I don’t want to hate on these guys, but can you say camp bodies? >>Eagles sign ex-Norfolk State QB (The News Journal)

2008-05-14 11:49:00 Eagles big time free agent signing CB Asante Samuel did a photo shoot a few weeks ago, and here are some great shots from it. 2008-05-13 17:04:00 Matt Mosely of ESPN thinks it could happen this year. Here is what he wrote in a recent article: Matt Mosley: Which team will be this year’s Giants? Iggles Sign QB Casey Hansen
2008-05-07 09:30:00 It looks like the Birds found themselves a developmental QB prospect. Casey Hansen signed a 3 year contract yesterday. Now this article says Hansen will have a shot to compete for a job, but in reality unless somebody gets hurt or traded the QB situation is pretty much set in Philadelphia. Donovan McNabb is obviously not ...

TO Can?t Feed His Family Again
2008-04-29 20:02:00 T.O. has still not payed the Eagles the $770,000 he owes them. Terrible Owens lost his arbitration hearing in January, and was told to pay the Eagles the money he owed them. Since then the Eagles have not seen 1 dime from Owens, and that can only mean one thing. Terrell is having rough times again. Everybody ...

Eagles Select King Dunlap With The 230th Pick
2008-04-29 09:06:00 King Dunlap is a LT from Auburn who was once considered a top prospect. He had a really bad year in 2007 mainly due to a left elbow injury he suffered early in the year. The poor season combined with some minor off the field troubles had Dunlap free fall in the draft to the 7th ...
Eagles Draft Joe Mays With The 200th Pick
2008-04-29 05:58:00 Joe Mays is a short stocky MLB who is known for his very physical play on the football field. Mays played at a small school, North Dakota State, but he dominated the competition there. He is a big hitter, can shed blocks well, and despite average speed he is a tackling machine. On the Eagles will get a shot ...
Eagles Select Mike Gibson With The 184th Pick
2008-04-29 03:53:00 The Iggles added more offensive line depth with the pick of offensive lineman Mike Gibson from Cal. Gibson started at LT for the Golden Bears, but may be better off as a guard in the NFL. Gibson is a very physical run blocker who will add valuable depth to the offensive line. I think it is ...
Eagles Select Jack Ikegwuonu With The 131st Pick
2008-04-28 13:19:00 Jack Ikegwuonu is a first round talent who unfortunately for him tore his ACL prior to the combine. After this devastating injury some felt that Ikegwuonu might go undrafted, but the Eagles saw enough talent in him to take a chance in the 4th. That was the Eagles first compensatory pick(unable to trade) and I think ...
The Eagles Pick Quintin Demps With The 117th Pick
2008-04-28 10:23:00 This was the extra pick the Eagles got for trading down with the Vikings, and they used it very wisely in my opinion. Quintin Demps is a free safety from UTEP who has a great understanding of the game. He is not the fastest guy, but he is very smart, and is able to cover his ...
DeSean Jackson Scouting Report
2008-04-28 09:52:00 This is a quick scouting report from an ESPN “draft expert” Todd McShay before the draft on new Eagle WR DeSean Jackson. He really rips into Jackson when he says he will be a productive number 2 WR at best. McShay, like many others seem to have doubts about Jackson, because of his size. I guess everybody has ...
Eagles Take DeSean Jackson With The 49th Pick
2008-04-27 03:05:00 I was not a fan of taking Cal WR DeSean Jackson with the 19th pick, but the Eagles were able to land him well into the second round. Jackson is a very crisp route runner, and has blazing fast speed(runs a sub 4.3 40). He has a great ability to create deep separation, and make big plays ...
Eagles Trade Down Again
2008-04-27 01:32:00 UPDATE! Eagles Gain 4th In Trade With Vikings. The Eagles traded the 43d pick they acquired from the Panthers, dealt that and a fifth-round choice (152 overall) to the Minnesota Vikings. Eagles Trade For Lorenzo booker
2008-04-27 00:22:00 The Eagles just acquired RB and return specialist Lorenzo Booker for a 4th round pick(114). Booker was a third round pick of the Miami Dolphins just last year, but did not get much playing time as a rookie. Booker is basically your typical scat back type. He is very quick, agile, and a great receiver. At ...
Eagles Trade The 19th Pick
2008-04-26 23:16:00 UPDATE! Eagles get Carolina’s next years 1st, this years 2nd, and this years 4th! In my opinion the Eagles just fleeced the Panthers. With Branden Albert and Chris Williams off the board, the Eagles backed out of this first round for next year. Getting an extra 2nd, and a 4th on top of that makes this a ...
