The Pillars To Successful Teamwork
2008-03-26 13:18:00
Some things can be done individually, but for some, you would need a person or two to back you up. You cannot always have a mindset that you can get things done with your own two hands. Certain things are best done as a team. This is where teamwork comes into the picture. Some individuals do face difficulties when working with their teammates. Some of the possible bottlenecks that would lead to negative team dynamics are:1. The inability to be receptive of one another?s diverse opinions and thoughts2. The negative working attitude that a few of the teammates could have portrayed during the course of work.3. One?s perception that better quality of work can be produced when being carried out individually, as teammates may still be unclear of the project expectations to be met.If we take some time to reminisce on this, we would realize that it is actually a privilege if you were given a task and got to work on it with a few other people. That is because with the involvement of your teamma...

In fact, there is so much “good stuff” out there that it can get confusing.  Should you follow Buddhism ...
Place Of Two Pillars On Legs In The News

?' ???? ?' ???"?Keolwulf 6This is a gruesome post, but another dual synchronicity of my dreams and real life with immediate parallel news events must be documented for the scribal record. While the "legs" synchronicity is positive in my dream (Bitachon, Shlomah's Catacomb & The Magic Megilah - where bitachon is associated with the leg of Netzach) and real life (The Victory Of Boudicca & The Temple Of Hod - where Boudicca's Celtic revival is associated with the leg of Hod), both entries e-scribed this past Shabbat, these news events are disturbingly violent. Where the violent energy originates, I do not know, but thank Goddess, it failed to find it's way into my milieu. ???? ???? ??????The first news event. Dust Pillars inTrifid Nebula
2007-12-26 11:36:00
Amazing space! In the above picture, you can see the end of a huge gas and dust pillar in the Trifid Nebula. According to NASA, Dust pillars are like interstellar mountains. They survive because they are more dense than their surroundings, but they are being slowly eroded away by a hostile environment. The pink dots are newly formed low-mass stars. A star near the small pillar's end is slowly being stripped of its accreting gas by radiation from a tremendously brighter star situated off the above picture to the upper right. The jet extends nearly a light-year and would not be visible without external illumination. As gas and dust evaporate from the pillars, the hidden stellar source of this jet will likely be uncovered, possibly over the next 20,000 years. NASA
The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett
2007-12-06 12:16:00
Ken Follett’s historical masterpiece, The Pillars of the Earth, is a spellbinding story set in Medieval England. It’s the tale of Philip, the devout monk; Tom, the architect whose job is to build the greatest cathedral; Lady Aliena and her secret shame; and it’s also a tale of good against evil, church against state, and brother against brother. You can get the Oprah's Book Club edition of The Pillars of the Earth for under $12. You can also get it in Spanish and other languages. Here's an excerpt from The Pillars of the Earth ~ by Ken Follett ~"Tom dropped the remains of his bread in the pocket of his apron, then narrowed his eyes against the sun and gazed across the field. The horse had its ears back and nostrils flared, but it seemed to Tom that its head was well up, a sign that it was not completely out of control. Sure enough, as it came closer the rider leaned back, hauling on the reins, and the huge animal seemed to slow a little. Now Tom could feel the drumming of it...

The Pillars of the Earth (Paperback)
2007-11-27 16:44:00
With this book, Follett risks all and comes out a clear winner, escaping the narrow genre of suspense thrillers to take credit for a historical novel of gripping readability, authentic atmosphere and detail and memorable characterization. Set in 12th-century England, the narrative concerns the building of a cathedral in the fictional town of Kingsbridge. The ambitions of three men merge, conflict and collide through four decades during which social and political upheaval and the internal politics of the church affect the progress of the cathedral and the fortunes of the protagonists. The insightful portrayals of an idealistic master builder, a pious, dogmatic but compassionate prior and an unscrupulous, ruthless bishop are balanced by those of a trio of independent, resourceful women (one of them quite loathesome) who can stand on their own as memorable characters in any genre. Beginning with a mystery that casts its shadow on ensuing events, the narrative is a seesaw of tension in ...

The Pillars of the Earth
2007-11-15 15:24:00
Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth is Oprah’s next book club rave. This is still my favorite book of all time. It’s 973 pages, but I’ve read it five times. I’m much overdue for another re-read. I first read it in 1991 (it was published in 1989). My English teacher had it on a list of suggested Spring Break reading. I read it during Spring Break with time to spare. Until that time, I had not been much of a reader. I felt so accomplished from the book and so sad to say goodbye to the characters that it started me on the course of reading books on my own. Since then I have been lending my copies out, creating more fans of the realm in the novel. Both copies are now long gone. Basically, it’s a story that spans around 100 years in 12th century England. The main theme is the building of a cathedral and the town around it–and its beginnings as a Romanesque stout building to an airy Gothic masterpiece. Follett himself says it’s ...

Texas Flyway, Monarch Migration, Raising Caterpillars and More
2007-10-24 04:37:00
We are officially in the Texas Flyway (the path in Texas through which the stately Monarch butterfly makes its way to Mexico where it hibernates for the winter). Did you know that Monarchs migrate and hibernate? Amazing stuff!Today we counted 54 Monarchs - 'King of the Butterflies' - around town when we made our way to art class. The cold front had them all hiding yesterday. The day before we saw only five and I was beginning to think that most of them were already close to the Mexico border. I was happy to see some of them today, but I sure hope they get to Mexico in time to beat the cold weather. They are so beautiful. Friday we counted 87 or so while we ran our errands for the culture fair. Thursday we counted 49 just in our neighborhood alone! They were flying high in the blue sky... one by one, drifting along with the breeze, orange wings glowing in the late afternoon sun.You can't really tell from our pictures (silly butterflies just wouldn't be still... and they were so h...

Imagine a power outage. No light, no heating, no computer, no internet... Then we all have to go back to the middle-age and use candles. But have you ever heard of soy candles? Caterpillarscandles.com offers them. Recently our basement was flooded and we had to light dozens of candles. We didn´t have enough since the blackout lasted for about 1 week. And we only had these small ones that only burn for one hour or something. For the next time we should be prepared, I guess. I´m going to buy some on their website. The candles from Caterpillarscandles.com are made from soy beans, which means that when they become popular, they should be quite cheap. Right now they´re still expensive because they are sold as a luxury item. But you could buy some Wholesale Soy Candles which should decrease the price a bit. This post is sponsored by caterpillarscandles.comSubscrib-e to *chilli*technology* via Subscribe to *chilli*technology* via RSS FEED

The Five Pillars of Islam: Bullet Point Style
2007-07-17 04:55:00
Every major religion has some form of bullet points that work as a basis for the faith. Take Christianity for instance, the Ten Commandments, though most Christians couldn't name half of them, still work as a basis for the zealots who thump their bibles and live supposedly perfect lives in God's grace. Islam is no different. Muslims are a bit more devout when it comes to their daily rituals and beliefs and this devotion is what brings Muslims across the world together. What most Americans don't realize or understand is that Islam is a peaceful religion that has as much bloodshed and history behind it as Christianity. Therefore I am compelled to give a crash course in the fundamentals of Islam, as best I can.The Five Pillars of Islam are as follows:Shahadah, the Testimony of FaithSalah, prayerSawm, fasting on RamadanZakah, the paying of almsHajj, the pilgrimmage to MeccaKeep in mind that the spelling and pronunciation of each is different from culture to culture as well as region ...
