Pinoy Idol presents Top 24
2008-05-22 07:15:00 Twelve hours before American Idol crowned David Cook as its seventh-season winner, Pinoy Idol formally introduced to the entertainment press its Top 24?12 men and 12 women?last night, May 21, at Teatrino in Promenade, Greenhills. These 24 Idol hopefuls bested more than 20,000 others who auditioned all over the country.The Top 24 singers were personally handpicked by Pinol Idol judges Ogie Alcasid, Jolina Magdangal, and Wyngard Tracy. And based on what the entertainment press saw and heard last night?all of the 24 Idol hopefuls performed for the first time before a live audience?most agree that the judges did a very good job in choosing who will compete to become the first Pinoy Idol.This group has very diverse musical talents?from ballad to pop to R&B to rock to jazz to blues to standards?that will make the show exciting. 2008-05-08 05:00:00 I finally got to see Pinoy Idol yesterday on my home from the 4th Philippine Blog Summit. After GMA 7 acquired the rights of Idol from ABC 5, Pinoy Idol has started airing auditions this month. Just yesterday, they showed the audition from Manila at the SMX Exchange at the SM Mall of Asia. Compared to ABC 5’s Philippine Idol, I can say Pinoy Idol is much better. There’s something with GMA that made this competition more appealing. I guess it has something to do with more exposure and advertising. ABC made a gamble before when they acquired the franchise to Philippine Idol. They should have started building up their channel before acquiring foreign talent shows. Philippine Idol is too big for their channel. I just pity the Philippine Idol winner Mao Marcelo for being treated this way by GMA 7. 2008-04-14 12:22:00 Pinoy Idol Visayas Auditions. The most remarkable in this episode is Annie Rose Britania, 18 from Bacolod City a blind girl who sang "And I am Telling You" but sadly didn't make it to Manila! The girl told stories that she's being discriminated on other contest she has join, unfortunately she experienced the same in Pinoy Idol. Ogie Alcasid voted 'yes' Jolina Magdangal who even cried while she's singing, voted 'no' with a lame reason. Wyngard Tracy voted 'no' and said "Baka you need some more training" duh, as if he can sing. LOLWho can forgot Glenn Genosa from Cebu, just found out why. A funny episode i must say, but the first one is much better, let's wait what will happen in Mindanao auditions.
