2007-05-30 06:31:00 Ahh, all good things must come to an end eventually, eh? Unfortunately, the reason for that may be that the quality of "good things" tend to deteriorate as time goes by until they can no longer be labeled as "good". Now this rambling and not-too-logical introduction to this review basically sums up my opinion of this movie: better than "Dead Man's Chest", not as good as "Curse of the Black Pearl". I liked the added romance bits in the plot, especially the ending, very bittersweet. There was a confrontation scene between Elizabeth and Will that I really liked, very romantic. However, the action sequences got pretty repetitive after the first forty minutes. Attempts were made to add humour to the plot by having Jack Sparrow talk to himself...with the different sides of his personality appearing in front of him. It was funny the first time, after that, it just became plain weird. I liked the little bit of plot between Davy Jones and Calypso, except the accent of Calypso made it diffi...

Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) still believes that Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightley) is in love with Jack and the tension between the two builds throughout the movie. Will must choose between Elizabeth and his Father, Bootstrap Bill, who is enslaved by Davy Jones. Sticking true to the pirate way of life the script has each of the main characters working together, but only doing so to reach their individual goal. There is backstabbing and plot twists galore, which is a credit to the writers. This could have been a very linear movie to write, save Jack – defeat Davy Jones – escape from Cutler Beckett and the army – marry Elizabeth Swan and Will Turner – The End. 2007-05-25 11:11:00 I really liked the movie! In short, it was LONG. It was about 3 hours. Two of those hours were pretty much explaining all the plots. There were A LOT of plots, all leading to everyone wanting Davy Jones' heart in the chest. I liked it a lot. SEMI-SPOILER ALERT (only highlight, or Ctrl+A if you're ready to read) The parts I liked were when they first showed Jack Sparrow in some sort of "Hell" or something. It was weird, but it was creative. I liked that version of "Hell." I liked the special effects. I liked when they showed The Cracken on the beach. when WIll Turner and Keira's dance/fight/get married. When Will Turner dies, but then takes over the Fliying Dutchman, as I predicted.
