El primero fue dirigido y escrito por Ralph Eggleston, director de películas como Buscando a Nemo, Los Inreíbles, Toy Story o WALL-E. El segundo fue escrito y dirigido por Pete Docter, que también dirigió Monstruos S.A. (y la próxima película de PIXAR, Up), y colaboró en los guiones de Toy Story, Toy Story 2 y WALL-E.For the Birds se emitió en los cines antes de Monstruos S.A., y supuso el tercer Oscar para Pixar en el apartado de Mejor Corto de Animación.
