Bobby G's Pizzeria is located at 2072 University Avenue in downtown Berkeley (near Shattuck), California. The phone number is 510-665-8866.Restaurant hours are daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.They serve delicious pizzas and panini. The pizza dough is organic and so is a lot of their other ingredients. The food is good and reasonably priced. It gets a little loud around lunchtime on the weekdays as a lot of Berkeley High students like to eat there, too.Visit the Bobby G's website to see their menu.
Coming soon: Pizzeria Serio
2009-10-08 19:44:00
Seems like we've been waiting forever for upcoming brick-oven pizza joint Nella to open in Lincoln Park, and it looks like we'll be waiting a little longer. The latest target opening date is the first week of November. The opening of the Taylor Street outpost has been pushed to at least February 2010. But in other, non-delayed brick-oven pizza news, Pizzeria Serio is coming to Belmont Avenue just west of Ashland in Lakeview. The pies here won't be as authentic as those Nella is promising (we're told they'll fall somewhere between New York-style and Neapolitan), but we wouldn't be surprised if they end up beating Nella's to the table. Pizzeria Serio is aiming for a late November opening....

Vieja Lira Trattoria & Pizzeria in Oaxaca, Mexico
2008-05-06 19:34:00
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Thankfully the recent expansion from 24 to 40 seats hasn't detracted from the intimacy and quaintness of this downtown Italian restaurant and pizzeria. It still has classy yet welcoming décor of deep cranberry and white walls, simple pine tables and cushioned chairs stained dark to enhance a bistro-like feeling, and not to be overshadowed, floor-length draperies well-matched to the magenta / wine tones. The soft sound of jazz heard from the street is alone enough to make you want to take a peak in, and then you're hooked.Rate and Review : Vieja Lira Trattoria and Pizzeria in Oaxaca, Mexico
Judges overturn libel verdict over bad review given Irish pizzeria | Weird
2008-03-12 12:25:00
weird factsDUBLIN, Ireland - The decision was bound to leave a bad taste in somebody's mouth. In this case it's the owner of Belfast pizzeria whose unprecedented libel verdict has been overturned by a Northern Ireland appeals court.Owner Ciaran Convery successfully sued a Belfast newspaper over a review that deemed his Goodfellas restaurant smoky, sloppy and unappetizing. But Northern Ireland Chief Justice Brian Kerr ruled that a Belfast jury erred in law last year when it awarded Convery $50,000 in damages.Kerr said the jury failed to consider whether the reviewer demonstrated malice, and would have been likely to rule in the newspaper's favour if the original trial judge had instructed them correctly.Noel Doran, editors of the Irish News newspaper, said the original verdict threatened the ability of newspapers throughout the United Kingdom to publish reviews. Convery vows to launch another lawsuit.[Via - CBC] Mind Blowing Free "Business-In-A-Box"Learn how to get a Free MacBook Ai...

Eastbank Cafe Bar Pizzeria, Sydney
2008-02-08 01:22:00
It has been very wet in Sydney this summer but yesterday morning was bright and sunny and we were excited to be tour guides to our Chinese friends. We picked them up from Chinatown and took a monorail to Darling Harbour then we took a ferry to Circular Quay to show them the 2 Australian icons - the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. After the scenic tour, it was time to feed them before taking them to Taronga Zoo. What better way to enjoy a summer's day than to have lunch by the Quay with the Harbour bridge and the Opera house in view.We chose Eastbank because it served Italian (which is our preference) but it had also other seafood offerings in its list of mains on the menu. Our Chinese friends are not very adventurous with food but are relatively familiar with Italian because of Pizza Hut!We ordered a fish and chips for the father, a spaghettini vongole for the mother and a spaghetti bolognaise for their daughter and I think the food was well received because they polished...

America's oldest Pizzeria
2008-01-16 18:29:00
If you are in New York City, do not miss the opportunity of tasting some of the tastiest pizza ever made. Head straight for the intersection of Spring and Mott in Little Italy, to savor the deliciousness at Lombardi's. They have a huge sign outside declaring themselves as 'America's Oldest Pizzeria', but you won't care about the authenticity of that declaration after you've tasted their pizzas. The picture was taken on the 31st of December 2007, and just look at the line! Although the wait was long (50 minutes!), it was well worth it. Lombardi's has tons of atmosphere and it was good to see the locals clamoring for a place in line with bright-eyed tourists, such as ourselves. Nestled amongst gritty tenements , this is a part town which is refreshingly New York compared to the touristy madness of Midtown, so if you've never been down here, make the trip.Coming back to Lombardi's, we were ushered down to the basement dining room which was a quirky little room, walls adorn...

village pizzeria
2007-10-09 21:57:00
If you love Larchmont and you love a thin crust slice as much as I do, you owe yourself a trip to Village Pizzeria.I've only been in at lunch for pizza and garlic rolls, but both are worth the extremely reasonable price of admission - 3 huge slices, 2 garlic rolls, 2 sodas - 12 bucks! The space is small which can make evening dining a pain in the ass, but at lunch with the outdoor patio, it's perfect.Try the sausage or the clam and garlic - both were deelish. The veg pizza was just as yum, but a little oily for my taste. They all have the perfect thin crust. The owner just bought a building in Hollywood near my office. I hear he's a dick, but hey, it's great pizza none the less. Look for a second location to open up on Yucca across from Joseph's as soon as he's done kicking out the rest of the old time tenants...And PS, if you're local, the pizza will come to you. They deliver. 131 N Larchmont Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90004 (323) 465-5566Photo cou...

Pizzeria Mozza
2007-07-13 08:21:00
After hearing all the buzz about Mozza, I knew I had to check it out eventually and after two visits, I can definitely say that it's one of my favorite restaurants in LA. Sure, the way reservations are made are a bit wacky. You actually have to reserve 30 days before the date you want to dine there; however, if you call the day off, sometimes you may get lucky. You also have the option of eating at the bar, but that can sometimes be anywhere from a 20 minute to more than hour wait. But I believe in the maxim that good things come to those who wait and by my estimation, you are rewarded for all the hassle by the great food that comes out of Mozza's kitchen. So let's talk food now. From both visits, I was able to try 6 of their appetizers. Of the six, the only one I didn't care for too much was the Broccoflower with Chile and Vinegar. I was expecting more sour-tangy-spicy flavors from this dish, but felt that those flavors were really held back, so everything ended up tast...
Zelo Pizzeria
2007-07-12 05:34:00
Having had my share of different kinds of pizza over the years, I finally tried out a unique pizza that makes me even happier that I live in the Eastside. :) So what differentiates the pizza at Zelo's in the town of Arcadia from some of the other pizza joints in town? The answer lays in its corn meal crust. Yes, you're reading right. Zelo's pizza has corn meal crust. I've been hearing for awhile now about Zelo's and finally my curiosity got the best of me, so I stopped by for lunch one day. Stepping into the restaurant, I already liked the feel of it. The walls of the restaurant were decorated with everything from quirky pizza-themed album covers to autographed skateboards from those famed skateboarding Z-Boys and even a portrait of Hank Williams. How eclectic is that! To the right of the restaurant, there is a refrigerated case where you can see the deep dish pizza pans containing pre-built uncooked pizzas. As opposed to ordering a whole pizza, you can opt to order single sli...

The Most Expensive Pizza On Earth

Nino?s Bellissima Pizza 890 2nd Ave New York, NY 10017(212) 355-2355So here you are. An upwardly mobile New Yorker, with some discretionary income. What to do? Where to go? What to spend that extra dough on? Pizza of course! So you travel to 890 2nd Avenue to Nino?s Bellissima Pizza and order the "Luxury Pizza" to the tune of $1,000.00 a pie. That's right, a thousand bucks, Hey, that's a lot of dough! And for all that dough you get a pizza piled high with 8 ounces of caviar, slices of fresh lobster, wasabi and chives on a creme franche sauce. This pie cost $720.00 to make, so the $1,000 price is okay I guess, I mean Nino only makes $280.00 gross profit on each pie he sells. So who would have that kind of dough and be bold enough or stupid enough to spend $1,000 on a pizza pie. Private investigator and televion personality Bo Dietl that's who. "It was an exciting taste.? Dietl said. So far he is the only one to buy this luxury pie. The only one . . . need I say more . . . Who Has The Best Pizza in New York?

Pizza New York spent weeks tasting hundreds, no thousands of pizza's. Slice after slice was consumed to determine who has the best pizza in New York City. The five top runners are:Lombardi's32 Spring St, between Mulberry and Mott Sts, New York, NY 10012 · 212-941-7994Opened in 1897 at 53 Spring St., just down the street from its present location, Lombardi's is easily one of the city's oldest eateries. Now, since taking over the space next door, the restaurant has almost doubled its former size. And while the original half--with its well-worn booths and open kitchen--easily outcharms the new dining room, the famously long wait has been cut in half, and thanks to the addition of a bar, it's almost a pleasure.Grimaldi'sBrooklyn Bridge Pizzeria Old Fulton St. under the Brooklyn Bridge (718) 858.4300 19Grimaldi's has the finest pizza pedigree in America. Origin of Pizza
2007-06-16 20:33:00
The word pizza is believed to be from an Old Italian word meaning "a point," which in turn became the Italian word "pizzicare," which means "to pinch" or "pluck. Pizza is a baked pie of Italian origin consisting of a shallow bread-like crust covered with seasoned tomato sauce, cheese, and often other toppings such as sausage or olive. The world's first pizzeria, Port' Alba, opened in 1830. Pizzas were baked in an oven lined with lava from a local volcano! The first pizza delivery occurred in 1889 when an Italian restaurant owner was asked to create a special dish for the guest of honor, Queen Margherita Terea Giovanni. He wanted to include the colors of the Italian flag in his dish to honor the queen, so he added tomatoes (red), mozzarella cheese (white), and basil (green) to focaccia bread. The restaurant owner named this meal the Margherita Pizza, using part of the guest of honor's name along with part of the name of his restaurant ?Pietro II Pizzaiolo. The Margherita Pizza was t...

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: We have had several good meals at Il Forno in the past few years. I have never written about it before though. Last night we visited it again to have light dinner and I observed the restaurant more carefully. Ours was just a small party of three this Monday evening and as luck would have it we did not need reservations. There was a large group at Il Forno celebrating a special occasion in one of the rooms at the far end of the restaurant but that did not interfere with our conversation.
