Every Moment is Precious
2008-06-07 20:13:00 Inadvertently yet with some inner purpose we cannot explain we stumble and bungle our way through the swamps, mires, and jungles of existence. Take some control. Every moment is precious. Don’t waste it. Yet there’s no need to fret. We have unlimited chances. Why not take it now? Every moment contains eternity…every eternity…all moments, for there is only one. Change the ...

Keith Olbermann: Poetry In Motion
2008-06-02 13:21:00 Howard Kurtz Wash Post on TV talking heads' Scott McClellan Bush bash spin: [Keith] Olbermann hailed the book, "What Happened," as "a primary document of American history" that contained "poetry." Talk about role reversal: It was Olbermann who said in 2005 that "whenever I hear Scott McClellan talking about 'media credibility,' I strain to remember who it was who admitted Jeff Gannon to the White House press room and called on him all those times." (Gannon, a conservative blogger with an X-rated past [a gay hooker], now says, "Scott McClellan's credibility is zero.")So is the credibility of the Big Three TV networks. Katie Couric admitted last week she was under pressure to positively spin the Iraq war. Anderson Cooper's CNN reporterbabe Jessica Yellin pointed the same finger at MSNBC brass.Kurtz: MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines calls Yellin a "disgruntled . . . news reader" who worked there for one year and who had "little to no contact with editorial decision-makers." Yellin sa...

Happy Birthday, Mom !
2008-06-01 06:01:00 ..............Happy Birthday, Mom You just turned 88 years old. I went to your grave, today, but you weren`t there! In a strange way, I guess, my emailing of friends about you is, really, all I have! And, of all people, you know that I was never a Mama`s boy!Mom, you always told me to "never cry!" Or, you said, "if you must cry, well...... don`t let them see you!" Mom, for three and a half years I watched you cry! It is amemory, from which, I will never escape! Mom, I have made some good friends in my crusade for your justice! And I have, also, made some enemies! But Mom, the good friends outnumber the enemies ten to one! Happy Birthday, Mom! You just go to sleep next to Dad now, OK?I will be there, I promise! And I will never stop telling people what an abortion of justice did to you, my Mom!Happy Birthday, Mom!Willy (NASGA)stopguardianabuse.orgvic-timsofguardians.netsac-now.com(-Stop Abusive Conservatorships - Now)William Roberts willyb246@sbcglobal.net----------------------------------...

2008 Mugello MotoGP Preview - Physical Poetry
2008-05-30 02:29:00 Over the next few days, it is going to be impossible for any MotoGP fan worth their salt to avoid hearing the phrase "nestling in the Tuscan hills." For the MotoGP circus returns once again to Mugello, one of the most beautifully situated race tracks in the world. The Italian track seems to bring out the poetical in even the most hard-nosed and cynical of journalists and press officers, and before you know it, you are awash with press releases and previews sounding more like paeans to the pastoral idyll in which the circuit is located than cool analyses of the race that is to come. Once you visit Mugello, it's not hard to see how this happens. Mugello sits in a rich green valley, just to the north of Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and arguably the modern world, and just south of the imposing peaks of the Apennines. The soil is fertile, the climate is warm without being too hot, the proximity of the Mediterranean both moderating the harsh summer heat and providing a re...

Where I'm From - in poetry
2008-05-13 02:22:00 My Great-aunt, "Big Clara" (the tall one),as opposed to "Little Clara" (the shorter).Colleen, of Loose Leaf Notes left a comment on my blog yesterday and I found myself at her blog, thanking her and having a nose around to see what she is all about. She is a brilliant writer, who writes from the heart and writes in such a way as to immediately draw you into her world. I have added her to my links in the sidebar. At Colleen's blog, I read a poem entitled "Where I'm From". Upon reading it I began to wonder if she would think it too bold of me if I should attempt a similar type of poem since it was such a wonderful expression of who she is. I was pleased to notice that she actually attributed this poem to another person's blog and that there is in fact a template for anyone who wants to write one like it. I can see Michelle Hix of Sont les mots... taking this on, or perhaps Fenny . Here is the link to the template and a bit of the history of the origin of the piece. You can rea...

A Few Ramblings and Pieces of Poetry
2008-05-11 19:24:00 I love when I go to health class and hear my teacher preach to us about how we're going to die younger than the generation before us. In other words, our parents should live longer than we will. He's always blaming technology and obesity as being the factors behind our expected short life spans. However, even though I believe that obesity may be a very large factor only depending on the individual, I more or less blame stress. Technology may sometimes add to the stress as we're presented with such an overwhelming amount of data at once to deal with, but I believe that technology is a great advancement in reducing stress. That's just my opinion without conducting any research on the matter. If you're stressed out, you can easily talk to somebody online about it, jump onto a video game and get your mind distracted by that, etc. But back on-topic: stress will cause our generation to die earlier than the previous generation. The world is just heading in a direction where conflict i... |
