Ed Bouchette reports that with the new extension, Polamalu will become the highest paid safety in the league. Polamalu is guaranteed just above $15 million out of the $30 million in the contract. Baker is now the fourth of the eight Steelers draft picks to sign. This may open the floodgates and get the remaining players signed by the weekend. Financial terms listed below:"Baker, 6-foot-3 and 206 pounds, will receive a signing bonus of $39,750 and base salaries of $285,000, 370,000 and $460,000."The Trib also reported that the negotiations with safety Troy Polamalu on a contract extension have heated up and a new deal could be in place by the camp reporting deadline on Sunday.
