This service was posted on January 2 and says police will carry anyone home who has had too much to drink as far as 25 miles away. Of course you are not allowed to abuse the program and police will have to determine themselves (that’s scary) whether or not the service is being abused. But still, this is a good idea and could help keep some drunks off the road. However, I do not see this type of service being implemented in larger towns because there would have to be a lot of police officers. In smaller towns, like Shalimar, I think it is a good idea and other police offices should try themselves to offer the same service. As long as it doesn’t interfere with other police work then it will only prove to be an asset for that town.
