STL Road Trips to Rainy Portland, Oregon
2009-09-08 05:12:00 Happy Labor Day! STL spent the holiday weekend not working in rainy Portland, Ore. Yesterday, I had breakfast with my better half at the deservedly popular Cadillac Cafe. Since I was on holiday, I focused on my delicious breakfast burrito — not less savory issues of infringement or dilution. This morning we paid a visit to one of Portland’s great brands, Voodoo Doughnut, but the line was way too long for this hungry customer so we went down the block to Stumptown Coffee, another Portland icon. As luck would have it, I snagged their last VOODOO-brand donut and washed it down with a damn fine cup of coffee before heading north.
A Photo Gallery of Homes in Portland, Oregon, known as Nob Hill
2009-09-07 07:00:00 I discovered a little pocket of delightful homes in Portland, Oregon, while on vacation. These homes are located in the Alphabet Historic District in Northwest Portland, dubbed Nob Hill. My husband and I grabbed a long weekend right after the 4th of July and flew to Portland. It's a quick flight, about an hour from Sacramento. Besides touring the sights in Portland, we also walked through a few neighborhoods. I always feel the need to look at real estate, even on vacation. I constantly hear about how progressive Portland is as it's sometimes held up as a model to follow, especially concerning its infill projects and neighborhood developments. I hope you'll be as intrigued as you look through the photo gallery of homes in Nob Hill, the Northwest area of Portland . . . read more about Homes in Portland. Barack Obama Draws A Record 75,000 In Portland, Oregon Today
2008-05-19 03:14:00 I've seen 18,000 gather in Oakland's City Hall plaza to hear Senator Obama and I thought that was massive. Every part of the area was filled with people and I could not imagine a larger gathering. Well, think of a crowd almost four times larger than that and you will have this photo and the massively attended Obama speech in Portland, Oregon today. What this says is Barack should not only do well in Oregon, he should clinch the number of delegates he needs to claim a majority of pledged delegates. But this also sends a message to Superdelegates that he's got a massive base of donors giving below $200, which means the Obama campaign does not have to share the names on their mailing lists. If you want to be a part of Obama's action, you've got to back him.

Weather Alert and Snow Advisory for Portland Oregon
2007-02-28 16:46:00 There has been a snow advisory for the Northwest, mostly in the Cascades, but even the West Hills area of Portland is experiencing quite a bit of snow. Freezing levels are down as low as the 500-ft level, but residents on the valley floor are even seeing the snow fall. Some schools in the area are switching to snow routes for the busses, and others have already reported to be closed. Check the local news channels, there should be a marquee on the bottom showing which schools are two hours late, and which have already closed. As the storm moves through the Cascades, the Columbia Gorge and the Dalles will getting their fair share of snow as well. Here in the area east of Sandy, The Mt. Hood Corridor - including Brightwood, Welches, Zig Zag, and Rhododendron will see some snow on the road, and it could be icy if you're driving to work this morning. As for the conditions on the mountain, there should be a lot of fresh powder to play in by this weekend. Get your skis out of the closet, p...
