my next jobs' going to be taking photos for postcards. sure, the markup on a 12-cent postcard can't be all that lucrative, but think of the job satisfaction. on second thought, it seems that all artists are starving; and i have bigger responsibilities now.
Philadelphia Jeep

Just outside my hotel, while waiting for the Philly Phlash in downtown Philadelphia, I spotted this vintage Jeep Willys vehicle parked on the corner. The Phlash bus is right behind it. The same bus that the bellmen at the Marriott Hotel said wasn’t in service anymore. Bastards! Of course I emailed this to the hotel but ...
Underbelly Of The Liberty Bell

The Liberty Bell Housed In Philadephia Last week we visited the city of Philadelphia to get to the bottom of a story about the Liberty Bell and what actually lies beneath it. Many wild theories surround the bell from microfilm evidence of the second shooter on the Grassy Knoll to the cremated remains of Jimmy ...

Gas Prices At $1.99
2007-11-16 18:29:00
I snapped this photo on my way home from work, while stopped at the red light at Midlothian, I snapped the BP gas station sign which had closed. The price for regular was $1.99 per gallon. At the time, I was shell shocked at the price. Who would have thought that being nostalgic ...
Postcards from the Edge Benefit

Visual AIDS Postcards from the Edge is an annual benefit exhibition and sale. This year the event will take place at the James Cohan Gallery in New York. This is what they write about the event: Since 1998, Visual AIDS has produced the annual Postcards From the Edge benefit, a show and sale of original, postcard-sized works on paper by established and emerging artists. Recognized as one of the most exciting and affordable ways to build a collection of internationally renowned as well as emerging artists, all works are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The works are signed on the back and exhibited so the artists' signatures cannot be seen. While buyers receive a list of all participating artists, they don't know who created which piece until purchased. Collectors may pick a piece by their favorite, famous artist or a work by someone they don't know yet. Their purchase of original works of art supports the important work of Visual AIDS.The deadline for this year is November...
Postcards From The Edge

I watched the first few minutes of MSBNC's repeat of last night's Repub debate. Trigger-happy blowhard Chris Matthews was champing at the bit to open his gaping maw as CNBC hottie Maria Bartiromo kicked off the debate. I caught his appearance on Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Matthews was stepping on Keith's lines and finally an exasperated Olbermann cut him off mid-mindless blather. Arab Princess and former Tee Vee news producer Carla's desperate dispatch: "The last time I attended a big Republican political event in the Detroit area was when Ronald Reagan won the presidential nomination for the first time. It was a splendid event in what was then a nearly splendid downtown Detroit when the Motor City still was making Thunderbirds and Detroit still ranked among the top ten news markets in the United States. I was also pretty splendid then - still in my twenties. Mon Dieu! How things have changed in the town founded by the French. There is no downtown Detroit left to speak of t...

Over the weekend, I received a postcard from Boris of Travel Junkie. He sent it while in Hervey Bay, along Fraser Coast, in Queensland, Australia. The postage was $1.25 AUD, which seems like quite a deal considering how far the little piece of paper had to travel. The nicely written postcard was a “thank ...

(these postcards probably say a lot more about my warped state of mind rather than my sense of humour for me to find them absolutely hilarious and so deliciously subversive.)(postsecret this ain't.)

No Stick Men today, I'm tired. However, I was rummaging through some old boxes in the attic and found some old galley proofs. These postcard mark-ups cost me my one-day imaginary job working for the Arizona Tourism Board. I misguidedly thought I could drive up female visitors to Arizona.Warning, crude juvenile humor ahoy! The Galley Proofs. (Small 1 Page PDF Only)
