2008-06-10 10:25:00 Mon Jun 9, 9:30 AM ET (Reuters) - Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc (KKD.N) posted a profit for the first quarter as the doughnut shop chain's turnaround efforts helped in trimming costs, sending its shares up more than 8 percent. The company, which has lost more than a half of its market value over the past year as it shut more stores and revamped its management to turn around its business, however warned of more store closures by its franchisees in future, adding the number of such closures may be "significant." The company, once a Wall Street favorite, said it posted a net profit of $4.0 million, or 6 cents per share, for its first quarter ended on May 4, compared with a net loss of $7.4 million, or 12 cents a share, a year ago. 2008-06-10 05:38:00 Updated June 18:This is one of the worst times of year for me - early June. My allergies go nuts and I'm extremely tired all the time. Bottom line is I don't feel like doing much of anything. I sleep 9-15 hours a day and I need to take stimulants (asthma medication) and drink about five cups of coffee to even make a 100-mile round trip drive. If I don't do that, I will fall asleep on the road and crash my car.I'm getting allergy shots once a week now, and it's the only thing that helps with the fatigue. I also drink quite a bit of coffee every day and I need to take multiple hits off the stimulant asthma inhaler just to make through the evening without nodding off.This is a really bad time of year for the pollens, especially in the Sierra foothills, where I am at the moment house-sitting at my parents' house (I live 33 miles away in the Valley) for my 86-yr-old father (he can't be left alone) while my mother and sister are visiting my aunt in the Chicago suburbs.It's times o...

2008-06-10 01:07:00 I have been sporting my own signature in my posts almost since I started this blog. Its one of the ways I make my blog unique and interesting. I was inspired by other bloggers who used the same method to sign their posts. Although they never expressed how they made it possible, I figured it out on my own. now I'd like to share that method. :D First you need a camera or scanner, a blue or black ball point pen, some blank paper, photo editing software like Picasa (which is free) or Photoshop, and a photo hosting account online like Flickr or Photobucket. 1) Write your signature on a blank piece of paper the way you want it to appear in your posts. 2) Take a clear photo of your signature or place it in your scanner. 3) Transfer your photo to your computer or scan your signature page. 4) If your scanning software can also edit your image, go ahead and use it. Summer Time! Does it Mean Slow Blog Posts?
2008-06-03 18:15:00 So it is finally June and the weather here in NJ is looking nicer and nicer by the day. What does this mean? It may mean that I may not be posting a lot during the summer because of yard work, beach time, jogging outdoors, workouts, etc. So what is the majority of the blogosphere doing on days or seasons that are just super nice and do not want to do any work? I will still post, especially if I am working on a project or doing something that will be beneficial to my readers and the internet. I mean I get emails sometimes about how much I am writing and how I have a lot of content. But I do not post on the weekend, its my time to catch up on other projects and catch up on life stuff as well. Now that the summer is coming up, I may even slow down on a lot of other projects so I can get a little darker and enjoy the sun.
