2006-12-28 01:47:01 Former President Gerald Ford passed away on Tuesday at the age of 93. The cause of death is unknown. He was the oldest living president til his passing. President Ford was the first President of the United States not to be elected by the people. He replaced Spiro T. Agnew as Vice President when Agnew resigned. He then replaced President Richard Nixon who had to resign because of Watergate. Ford lost his reelection bid to former President Carter in 1976.
