While his cultural and ethnic background may be different from many African Americans, the truth of the matter is that he is just as much a Black person as any other African American. It's not like he experienced any less racism (either personal or institutional) because his father was from Africa. In fact, the dude made an intentional attempt to embrace his blackness in college.
