Female Promiscuity Increases Offspring?s Resistance
2008-03-04 03:08:00
A new study reveals that the healthiest colonies of Hymenoptera (”thin wings”) insects (bees, ants, wasps) are produced by females (” queens”) which indulge in the most promiscuous sexual encounters. Honeybee queens mating with multiple drones produced colonies possessing a wider genetic variation. This variation would result in an increase of their resistance to ...
Promiscuity leads to academic failure, shows Cambridge survey
2008-01-29 07:03:00
A new survey of the sex lives of students at Cambridge University has revealed that promiscuity adversely effects a person’s ability to score good grades.   More than 1,000 undergraduates were questioned during the survey, and it was found that those at poorly performing colleges had the most number of sexual partners.   Peterhouse came near the bottom of the 2007 Tompkins Table, which ranks Cambridge colleges in order of their students’ academic performance, but third in the promiscuity list.   The survey revealed that its students had an average of five sexual partners as compared to three at Christ’s College, which came second in last year’s academic table.   It was also found that Christ’s had the highest number of virgins, with more than a quarter of respondents saying that they had never had sex.   The surveyors say that students studying certain subjects were more promiscuous than others. Writing about their online poll,...

Quiz: When are liberals against promiscuity?
2008-01-26 07:11:00
When they want to promote gay marriage. All of a sudden, fidelity, family, and its trappings are very important. In the video above, the Nobel laureate comes down from the mountain to ask the volk a question: "Why not?" (This question didn't occur to him in 2000). I'm shocked when, midway, he admits that he doesn't "understand." Can't he speculate, at least? Anyways, since he asked me: 1. Nobody has a right to marriage unless by "right" you mean "things I like." 2. My gay brothers and sisters (not literally, Roberto and Dianne) can marry- it just has to be with somebody from the opposite sex. 3. If Gore wants to encourage marriage and lasting relationships, he should be against gay marriage. Everywhere it's been tried (this analysis from the Netherlands), gay marriage has led to decreased marriage rates. People don't take into account the demoralizing effect of standards-lowering. People aren't robots (well, maybe Gore.) Thanks to my friends at Magnasquids who alerted me t...

2007-11-20 04:06:00
Everyone who changes their religion goes through a period of spiritual seeking. It is a time of discovery and experimentation to see which spiritual tradition speaks most to their calling. There is a dark aspect to this, though, which is quite prevalent in the Pagan community?Spiritual Promiscuity. Ian, over at Dreaming the Future Closer, wrote a ...
Sexual Promiscuity

I’ve often read that one of the signs of mania is a high level of sexual promiscuity. Personally, I don’t think I’ve experienced this, although I’m not completely certain what level of sexual activity falls within the norm.My teens and early 20s took place in the late 1970s and early 1980s, which was during the ...
Promiscuity versus Commitment?
2007-09-01 20:50:00
We have a number of gay friends who have maintained life long committed relationships.  We also have had (sadly) a number of heterosexual friends whose marriages have been blown away by promiscuous, covert relationships that have destroyed their marriages — too often leaving children as well as spouses devastated. My wider philosophy colleague some time back, ...
