He has had beginner kids as old as 15 ride him in a pasture setting and he does well as long as they are quick learners and pick up how to handle a horse in that type of setting. My four year old can do pretty much anything with him on the ground. He is only 6 and still has much to learn, great attitude just not bomb proof yet.Looks great under western or english saddle.
