Clickbooth - An International Publishers Network
2008-06-07 07:41:00 Last evening, while registering for Clickbooth Publisher Network, I was prompted to give my phone number where they could give me activation code. I did that and even before I could move to the next screen, I got a (overseas) call telling my code. I was impressed by the efficiency and their emphasis on authenticity. With all the help available, signing up is easy.I have been struggling with different methods of monetizing for some time now. Clickbooth Publisher Network - an advertising/affiliate network that pays on a Cost Per Action (CPA) - seems a nice platform. On a CPA model, advertisers pay publishers per set of action which a publisher?s user must complete. This can range from just visiting the ads, signing up for newsletters, leaving email address, and even purchasing a product. In the industry, Clickbooth pays the highest share to publishers. Other income is through the multi tire referral program. You can earn 2% of the gross earnings of your referrals plus $10 for every af...

Google says, "We've Fixed AdSense Reports", Publishers Disagree!
2008-05-09 17:06:00 We had informed our users yesterday, that there were numerous reports of delays in Google AdWords and Google AdSense reports which was leading to incorrect data. However, now Google says, that it has fixed the issue. In a post on Google Groups, Stephanie explains, "Hi everyone, This reporting issue has now been fixed, so you should now see all of your missing data from yesterday in your account. (We've also reflected this update on our Known Issues page at https://www.google.com/adsense/-support/bin/answer.py?answer=92-365.) I'll leave this thread pinned to the top of this category for another day, to make sure more forum members see this update. Thank you all again for your continued patience, and our team sincerely apologizes for the delay." However, this post didn't even get close to pacify the publishers. After Stephanie's post, most of the publishers reported that nothing has changed in their reports, which would simply suggest that the problem is ...

Privacy Policy For Google Adsense Publishers
2008-04-20 23:02:00 Recently, Google Adsense updated their Terms of Service. That's why when you logged in to your account, their Terms of Service policy will be displayed requiring you to re-read and click "I agree". Their new TOS popped up after I logged in my account later last month but honestly, I did not read it. I thought it was a technical issue so I just clicked on "I agree" and continued checking my Adsense earnings. But after reading from several blogs saying it's a must to create a Privacy Policy for each Google Adsense publishers and post it on their blogs or websites, I felt obliqued. I thought I should post a Privacy Policy in all of my blogs using Adsense ads. I've created - I mean copied and edited- my own and posted next.If you are an Adsense publisher, you should know that it's a must to have a Privacy Policy on all your AdSense sites. This is not optional. When you agreed to the new terms, you agreed to do this too. Better do it rather than be sorry in the future. We all know tha...
Alexa Rankings System changes and Vietnamese Publishers Rethink Web Metrics
2008-04-19 11:00:00 Web metrics provider Alexa just announced the New Alexa Rankings with new algorithms that pushed most of Vietnamese websites' ranking down overnight. In fact it is a good news for marketers in Vietnam since Vietnamese online publishers used to set Alexa ranking as a norm of traffic measurement and monetization. Last year a news portal in Vietnam even posted a headline saying VnExpress in Global Top 100 Websites and near the line of CNN.com and BBC Newsline. Ironically it said Alexa was the only independent and objective ranking system of web metrics worldwide. Actually many international marketers and advertisers had left Alexa for other web metrics/analytics service such as comScore, Hitwise, Compete and Nielsen//NetRatings. Among the fierce competition, comScore had became the leader with reports can send Google' shares down significantly.Since online advertising is emerging as an important piece of media and branding communication strategy of marketers in Vietnam, the need for...

Click Bomb Attack - A Real Threat To Web Publishers
2008-03-05 15:41:00 Google disabled my Adsense account the other day… They noticed “invalid clicks” to the ad blocks posted in my websites… But I’m sure I followed their TOS (Terms of Use). After some few researches, I discovered that I’ve been attacked by a “Click Bomber” or someone that sabotages websites (especially site income) by clicking on the ads constantly until the publisher’s banned from the ad network. Few days before the click attack, my webwizzer blog received 2 spam comments with links to a malaware/spyware/adaware website.Google hasn’t been very active in fighting these criminals or even try to upgrade their system against malicious attacks. Their semi-automated anti-click fraud system is a failure. There are innocent web publishers that are getting banned without even investigating. They only have this “appeal form” which I doubt would ever help me or any other publisher. These click bombers are everywhere. Whatever their purpose, it’s a real blow that cripples...

Google To Refund Australian and New Zealand Publishers Their Due Share
2008-01-15 12:28:00 Around the start of the new year Google did it's math wrong when they erroneously calculated AdSense remuneration for publishers from Australia and New Zealand. As a consequence of applying inverted the exchange rates to calculate payments, the poor publishers ended up getting 20% less than what they should have been paid. Fortunately for the Australian publishers, Google's acknowledged the mistake and has promised to reimburse the publishers their due share. Mails have been forwarded to all the publishers affected by this issue. The issue pertains to the November payments for publishers. Google's offered an apology and an assurance "We'd like to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you, and thank you for your patience as we work to issue the additional payment due to you. This payment will be issued early next week." In case you haven't got a mail from them you can mail them here Via: Google Groups AdSense Help, Webmasterworld
AdSense Referral Policy Change - Foreign Publishers Got Slapped
2008-01-11 07:26:00 AdSense through their blog announced changes to their referral program that now becomes less lucrative to publishers. A year ago, AdSense changed the referral comission structure like this: If you refer someone to AdSense who makes $5 within 180 days you get $5 If you refer someone to AdSense who makes $100 within 180 days you get $250 If you refer 25 people who make $100 within a 180 day period you get $2000 Then they decided to conclude this experiment and return to the original pricing structure which has a comission calculation as follows: If you refer someone to AdSense who makes $100 within a 180 day period you get $100 That’s it! No more incentive to refer small publishers and referring a group of publishers. Like if that’s not enough, read this: If you’re outside of North America, Latin America, and Japan, AdSense referrals will be ...

Google Adsense Referrals Retire for most Publishers

Adsense : Unfair With Their Publishers!
2008-01-08 11:22:00 Publishers outside North America, Latin America and Japan can no longer participate in the Adsense Referral Program (referral promoting the use of Adsense). Darren, made a report about this stupid decision at Problogger. The complete detail can be read at the Adsense Blog. Here’s the summary of the stupid decision made by Adsense. First, Adsense is going to change their payout for Adsense Referral Program. Currently, Adsense pays their publisher $5 if a person they refer earns $5. Moreover, if a publisher refers someone to AdSense who makes $100 within 180 days, the publisher gets $250. Finally, if a publisher refers 25 people who make $100 within a 180 day period, the publisher gets a bonus payment of $2000. Instead of the current payout, Adsense decided to return the old payout system, which is to pay publishers $100 if they refer someone to Adsense who makes $100 within a 180 day period. Second, and the most stupid decision yet made by Adsense, is to retire Adse...
