Police Seize Meth in Punxsutawney House
2009-02-11 16:47:00 I?m not condoning possessing or attempting to sell crystal methamphetamine, but after seeing the picture below, I can certainly understand it.It must be humiliating to be lifted like this in front of thousands of people and then having your picture viewed by millions of people all over the world. Apparently, Punxsutawney Phil goes by Gene Rees on the 364 days a year other than Groundhog Day. Rees "was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. Police said they found approximately 1.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, $63,000 in cash, nine guns and drug paraphernalia."Just remember: Don?t drive angry!The story was published in Tuesday?s Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.Photo by Carolyn Kaster/AP.

Punxsutawney Phil Had Better Watch His Back!
2008-03-05 20:49:00 Two days ago it was nearly seventy degrees outside. The wind was blowing, sun shining intermittently, birds were singing, children laughing and a warm feeling of hope cradled us all... OK So maybe it wasn't all that great, but I did open up the windows and the kids played outside all afternoon, in short sleeves.This morning it was twenty five degrees and I woke up to this:That's a solid ice covered tree with an extra coating of snow for good measure.Not so much as I woke up to that huge pile of ice covered limbs as I went to bed with it last night. I had to clear enough of them from the driveway so that my wife could get to work this morning.I'm gonna kill that Groundhog if I ever catch up to him!P.S. Some of you may recall I've recently had some problems with that same tree. I was going to have it chopped down. Mother Nature is pruning it for me.

2007-12-06 21:20:00 I'm not sure if I landed that metaphor properly in the title, but what I was trying to say is that awards season has officially kicked off, with George Clooney and Casey Affleck winning the first prizes of the season from the National Board of Review. Clooney's performance in "Michael Clayton," earned him his award of best actor, and Casey Affleck was recognized for his portrayal of his character in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," in which he starred opposite George's buddy, Brad Pitt. The beginning of the awards season always makes me so nervous cause it's so many awards and outfits to keep track of. That's a lot of fashion to criticize, people! And I'm only one woman!
